MOHAMED BOLKIAH MOSQUE, KAMPONG SERUSOP BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 🇧🇳
A mosque is the House of Allah s.w.t. where only He is worshipped and glorified through the five daily prayers, supplementary (Sunnah) prayers, reciting the Quran, Zikir (remembrance of Allah s.w.t.) and many other good deeds. As mentioned in the Quran,
وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَـٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًا
“And (He revealed) that the mosques are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.” (Surah Al-Jinn, 72:18)
IN Malay: Kampung Serusop or simply known as Serusop, is a village in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei Darussalam and a neighbourhood in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan.
Mohammad Bolkiah Mosque is located in Kampong Serusop Jalan Muara about 7km from Bandar Seri Begawan. This mosque was built on the 1st. February 1976 on a 6.28 acre plot of land and completed on the 31st. August, 1978 expenditure of $1,100,000.00.
This mosque was officially opened by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the 3rd. Muharram, 1400 is equivalent to the 23rd. November, 1979 in conjunction with the arrival of the 15th century Hijrah.
