Zlatna Park (Golden Park) is a hidden gem nestled near the town of Lukovit in northern Bulgaria, just a short drive from Sofia. Located along the serene Zlatna Panega River, this magical destination feels like a scene taken straight out of a fairytale. The park has gained popularity for its whimsical design, Hobbit-style wooden houses, small floating cabins, arched stone bridges, and forest paths that invite exploration and imagination.

One of the main attractions of Zlatna Park is the small dam, which gives the place a peaceful, lake-like atmosphere. Along the water, visitors will find tiny wooden houses built on platforms that float gently on the surface, creating a charming and surreal landscape. The park also features handcrafted decorations, artistic wooden sculptures, and cozy hideaways that blend naturally into the lush greenery.

Zlatna Park is a favorite for day trips, family outings, or romantic walks. It's not a large park, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for with creativity and charm. You’ll encounter unexpected details around every corner – from tiny fairy figurines to rustic swings hanging from trees, and even a sculpture of a fairy balancing on a wooden pole in the water.

The atmosphere is peaceful and photogenic, making it ideal for nature lovers, photography enthusiasts, and those looking for a quiet escape from the busy city life. Entry to the park is free, and although it's not a commercial theme park, its handmade magic and natural beauty make it feel special.

In the surrounding area, visitors can also explore the Prohodna Cave (also known as the Eyes of God), which is one of Bulgaria’s most iconic natural landmarks and is only a few minutes away by car.

Zlatna Park may not be well-known outside Bulgaria, but its charm is undeniable. Whether you're looking for a short nature walk, a unique picnic spot, or simply a peaceful moment surrounded by creative beauty, Zlatna Park is well worth the visit.

I have only one complaint, that you can't pay with a...

A Magical Escape at Golden Park Golden Park is truly beautiful, bursting with magical colors and peaceful vibes. There’s a cozy dessert cafe.right inside where the sweets are incredible — especially the lemonades, which are top tier and perfect for a sunny day. Everywhere you look, lily flowers add to the charm. Nearby, you can head to Iskar Panega for a relaxing boat ride along the river, which I 100% recommend. You can also rent a paddle boat or a canoe for some extra fun on the water. It is a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy...
