I enjoyed this, but it's heavily priced for what's available.
20 Lev each to get in, so around £10 or so.
Greeted by a man dressed as a king, and had a photo taken with him, which they charge for if you decide you want it, but thats to be expected of that type of service.
The Castle grounds themselves are stunning, beautiful architecture. However when you look close its already In a state of disrepair in areas.
The zoo part is terrible. I'm generally not a fan of zoos as I don't like animals being in captivity unless it's for their own protection, but this one was terribly small, and uncared for. The bird area stunk like it hadn't been cleaned out in ages.
There's a few areas you can go inside. A wine cellar, the Chapel and a tower via a secret looking door. You'd be charged for wine tasting, but you're not charged to check out the cellar like another review indicated.
I'd skip the gallery. It's 5 Lev each which isn't a lot but there's nothing in it really. Some printings of popular art, but not originals. A bunch of random ornaments but nothing historic, things I'd find on my grans bookcase. There's a skeleton who's meant to be the Bulgarian vampire. And they show you 2 videos. One is a trailer for Sleeping Beauty (as it was filmed here) and one is about the design of the castle. It pretty much tells you that the east point points towards the tip of everest, the North to the north Pole, the south to the great pyramids and the west to Gibraltar the oceon peak.
I feel as more gets built and you get to explore inside the castle they'll be more worth seeing, but when that happens the price will climb again. I reckon if you have kids, or people with a Disney affinity they'll love it, as most of what you can see is stunning.

I would say it's a bit overpriced. Twenty leva per adult is quite a bit for Bulgaria, especially if you have to pay extra for everything else inside. Toilet is one lev more. Picture with a fancy dress is twenty. Riding a horse twenty again. Wine tasting twenty five leva and so on... Basically for the initial tax you can see gardens and some birds, small church and to enter the winery to see around. Even to enter the gallery costs five leva or something, let alone if you want to visit the Egypt exposition - that would be eight leva alone. So all in all, if you want to grab a coffee or a piece of cake, would easily spend a hundred leva or more for not more than two hours. I have been told that Castle hasn't been finished yet so maybe in the future there will be more to be seen. Either way, surely must visit place, at least once :) It's pretty and gives a special atmosphere for sure.

A place filled with the spirit of fairy tales and fantasy. Very beautiful, many flowers, statues, the atmosphere of magic, mysticism and the Middle Ages. The entry price for Bulgaria is large - for one 15 euros. Some places are not finished yet. But what is there is very beautiful. You can swim on a catamaran in the pond (I don’t recommend it, the pond is small), see peacocks (there are a lot of them and they are cool!), go down to the cool dungeon to sit on the throne and take a bunch of beautiful photos with stone frogs. Probably one of the best places to visit in Bulgaria in principle. It is not historical, but the creators clearly approached the construction of the castle with love. Everything looks cool, plus there is free parking. Tickets were bought at the box office, on Saturday there were not very many people.

We visited Castle Ravadinovo, which is not of historical value is a commercial project. When I saw the castle in the distance, I was rather skeptical.Thought that when we get there and pay for the entrance 5 € and in the end we will be disappointed. But it is not. The castle was really fabulous! The area of this complex is quite large, where there are many fountains, different sculptures, a church. There is a wine cellar with large royal tables, near them paintings that are all in the spiderweb (there you can also taste the wine and buy it).It is very atmospheric place and it is clear that the people who did this were really inspired by the idea and very much tried to implement it. And they did it very well. Unfortunately, the castle is still under construction inside.
I recommend this place to visit, you will not regret it.

The castle itself and the garden were really beautiful, but the animals that are kept there are very badly looked after.. one of the horses was tied to a fence while standing in the full sun, and the cages for the birds were way to small for the amount of birds living there. Aside from that, the reptile room was the worst of all. The cages for the snakes were way to small, and very badly looked after. They only had some wood chips/plastic grass and a plate of water. Some of the snakes were blind, or missing teeth. One of the cages had a piece of smelly chicken in a bag on top of it, who knows how long it had been laying there. And to top it all of, one of the cages even had some injection needles on top of it. Don’t take your children there. If you like animals, don’t take tour money to these people.

The castle itself was closed for renovation and yet we paid the full price. We could only go round the castle grounds. This made us feel cheated upon. What disappointed us the most was the poor state of the animals that looked ill fed, especially the dog that was left outside under the hot sun on a very short leash in the dirt. As soon as we stopped to give it some food it immediately started to whine with happiness and was wagging its tail. It devoured our food and was begging for more. We had to leave it with the hopes of an eventual return.
The castle tries to give an illusion of living in a fairy tale. But this illusion is very quickly gone once seeing the animals. With such a high entrance price, one would expect a certain amount of decency shown towards the animals living there.
