Wow, what an incredible visit! I had the pleasure of getting a full tour from the lovely Ms. Borey, who is an absolute treasure trove of knowledge. She shared so many fascinating details about traditional textiles, their history and the craftsmanship behind them. I learned so much! I even asked a few tricky questions that she didn’t have the answers to right away, but she was genuinely excited to research them and share her findings with future visitors!
To top it all off, I picked up a one-of-a-kind souvenir from the gift shop, beautifully handmade by another talented staff member. Such a special way to take a piece of this experience home with me! Read moreDo visit this museum on your way to or from the ticket centre of Angkor Wat. It’s a pleasant building with efficient and responsive staff. The textiles have been well explained, and lots of connections have been made between Ganga and Mekong river. Photographs are not allowed though, so soak in as much as you can. Processes, techniques and garments have been displayed and explained.
We got a chance to see the temporary exhibition of a performance costume made locally with lotus fibres and other locally sourced material.
