Suor Prat Towers: A Mysterious Marvel The Suor Prat Towers, a series of twelve unique stone structures located in Angkor Thom, Siem Reap, Cambodia, are a fascinating and intriguing addition to the Angkor complex. While their exact purpose remains a mystery, their distinct architecture and historical significance make them a must-see for any visitor to the area. These small but impressive towers are believed to date back to the 12th century. While their original purpose is unknown, there are two popular theories: Royal Residences: Some believe that the towers were used as residences for the King's wives. The unique design and location of the towers might support this theory. Places of House-Arrest: Another theory suggests that the towers were used as places of house-arrest for officials who had fallen out of favor with the King. Regardless of their original purpose, the Suor Prat Towers are a remarkable example of ancient Khmer architecture. Their intricate carvings and unique design offer a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Cambodia.

Beautiful stone towers that are small but unique and distinctly impressive. The two diverging stories I've heard associated with these towers. First, they were used for each of the King's wives as residences. The other one being they were used as places of house-arrest for officials.

These are twelve small stone towers standing on small hillocks/meadows extending from the South Khleang to the North Khleang. All of them and the locations themselves are quite picturesque. Many of these were restored by the Japanese and the UNESCO.
