Wake Park Cambodia — Attraction in Siem Reap

Highly disappointed. I booked my son’s 4th birthday party, prepaid for the beachside birthday bbq hut. I expected about 20-30 guests because children come with parents and made Sure we would have ample seating. I provided a paid for birthday host who arrives 2 hours before the birthday to set up decorations. The evening before the 9:30am start time birthday party, I decided to drop off decorations so they would be there before the host arrived. When I arrived I greeted the owner who kindly greeted me and communicated instructions to the staff on how to store the cake. I proceeded to drop off the decorations at our beachside hut to find there was plenty of beach but no “sea.” I was absolutely heartbroken because the whole point was to have a beachside party with water to swim in and get those good beach vibes and play beachy games. The worst part was that the owner never informed me beforehand and upon arriving and seeing her she still failed to inform or warn me that there would be no swimming available for our very young birthday party guests ranging in ages 1-8 years old. I had to confront her. Staff was all aware of it as well and was very apologetic because there is no way to fill the wster for the party fast enough since they refuse to use electricity to pump water and only use solar. It was nearly midnight when I received a text saying they could compensate me with a foam party. But little kids don’t always like stuff on their face, especially 1 or 2 year olds. They also offered to compensate with free aqualand area usage but even our 4 year old struggles to get from the very deep, nearly 14 foot deep watering hole filled with algae and fish,up on top of a large floating par core course without help of an adult. This sort of area requires serious adult supervision because the children are small, cannot swim and if they fall out of their life vests or drown the water is so dark and murky it would be difficult to rescue a toddler. When we realized there was no rememdy, I had to make a painful call to change venue from Wake Park to my own home. This includes finding last minute food, last minute drinks and asking the host to pivot activities from beach to tea party. I had to source chairs and tables, hire help to set up and clean up. I then had to inform all guests of start time change, venue change and no swimming. It was extremely stressful a day that was intended to be stress free and chill at Wake Park. It has been over 4 months and Wake Park has not met with me, has not returned my messages to discuss the matter as they suggested we meet to discuss, only an excuse they are too sick, yet still sick four months later and still no remorse, no apology and 100% refused to refund me. Wake Park even stated that it is me, not them, who caused them undo hardship after canceling last minute. They had zero intention on informing me that I was buying a product they no longer had available for the day I booked a beach side birthday party for toddlers. There is no accountability, a complete lack of business ethics, a classic bait and switch expecting me to pay for a subpar product and it’s really quite a shame because I expected so much better/more but I truly feel like an African who got...

Ive been patient and kept my words inside now for 4 months. It all started with the big deception we had to endure.

My wife does all the planning as she's the best, she contacted Wake Park weeks in advance to book a Private Hut with a hot tub near the beach, she spent countless hours inviting other families with kids to create an epic 4 Year Birthday party For our little prince.

Im not exagerating, she was literally scheduling to have roughly 30 people in total.

The evening prior we decided to go and drop of the Birthday cake and take a peek as we were excited and nervous, also it allowed us a little drive together which we always enjoy.

We arrived, past reception to the restaurant/bar with two large Cakes. we asked them to keep them in their fridge overnight which they where happy to do.

WE are familiar with this place and from the bar you can see the Beach which is where we planned to spend the next day with all these kids and parents. I recall pulling my wife's arm and being ,'' Why is there no water at the beach?

We walked over and where both shocked, disappointed and felt like all this hard work and imagination was dissipating as we where getting closer.

I cannot imagine how she felt, considering she spent so many hours getting it sorted and it just all was taken away by Wake park inability to communicate and even think that a BD Party planned the next morning with all these kids would have booked this cabana and this event without the beach?

We all make mistakes, yet what followed were just excuses. I understand shit happens. But assume your part and apologize to guest!

The fact that you guys didn't think we wouldn't be dissapointed especially after She wrote privately with you guys to coordinate this event is a lack of respect and very unprofessional.

I came to acknowledge that wake is a fancy Facade of foreigners taking advantage of travelers and families that put their trust in their hands.

I will add, we had great moments prior to this event, but the way they responded to our concern that night and said initially they wouldn't refund as we canceled. After a private talk, they agreed to a private free use of the aqua park. A $ 70 refund. Which is why this review is happening now !!!!!!!!!

We never received it. My wife brought her friend for her BD last week and wanted to pay using the ''Credit" but it didn't work and wake park ended charging her friend and to this day we are still waiting for a refund.

You know the amount, and I am asking you after this event that just happened to contact my wife and send her the money via ABA.

I am disappointed in how you have repeatedly hurt our family after making us feel so happy and welcome.

My stay at the Lakeside Bungalows in Cambodia was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The bungalows are modern, stylish, and offer breathtaking views—you truly get to stay in the best lake view bungalows in Cambodia.

A major highlight for me was the people I met at this Siem Reap lake accommodation. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in every situation. I had a fantastic time interacting with them, and it was a great experience to connect with them, other guests and locals who come by to enjoy a drink or a wakeboard session.

Also the wakeboard instructors are amazing. It was my second time standing on a wakeboard and the instructors showed me so many things! The progress is very exiting and hitting the water in this beautiful park feels like a dream. Also, it’s really cool to watch the instructors on the water, It’s crazy what they are able to do!!

The owners, Nadia and Leo, are amazing! They’re incredibly helpful and genuinely care about their guests, making the experience even more special.

An other thing I love about this place is that it offers so much more than just the top wakeboarding experience in Cambodia. It’s also the perfect spot to relax, enjoy your time, and connect with others. The easy access to the wakeboard park means you can hit the water whenever you want!

I love good food, and the on-site restaurant is heaven for any food lovers. The local food is delicious and the presentation is amazing! The cook is making everything freshly, and you can really taste the freshness. And the barkeeper is on a different level. Throwing bottles in the air like it’s nothing!

Additionally, the location is super convenient—just 10 minutes away from the center of Siem Reap. They offer reasonably priced motorbike rentals, which I took advantage of to explore some new spots around the area. It’s an absolute must if you want to discover more of Siem Reap!
