I took my daughter here for family day on June 15. It was excellent. Kids fish in the ponds and they really stack the deck so it's pretty much impossible for the kids to not catch a fish, which they can take home (they keep it on ice til you're ready to leave). Everything was provided including the fishing gear and instruction on how to use it. There were enty of staff on hand to answer questions or to help handle the fish if it's you're first time and you are anxious about getting the hook out, etc. Lots of little educational pavillions including the BC Wildlife people and there was a station to learn how to tie flys, which the kids got to keep. It was all free and my daughter had a blast. Now she wants to go fishing again! It's an annual thing so definitely going back next year.

If you are going to do ANY event with go fish bc learn to fish THIS is the best place ! They give you an info session in the theatre. Tour the facility. They have open aquariums where you can see different species of fish including 2 white sturgeon. They have tons of cool posters along walls, facts about fish, great learning opportunity for the kiddos. After that, they take you to the ponds to fish. Which let me tell you!!! You are pretty much guaranteed to catch a trout. (Catch and release) everyone from our group caught a fish, some 4 fish. We had a blast ! Great facility. We will be back

The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery and Visitor Centre is a free to visit building with a bunch of information about fishing, licensing, and fishes. The walk around the building is not too long but you’ll learn a lot from the information signage posted throughout. The walk is circular so you won’t have to walk back to the same place twice. You’ll also see live fishes in tanks. Also, be sure to check out the washroom signs. The usual female and male figure is carrying a fishing pole!

So many great things to say about this place !! First of all - Hannah you were AMAZING ! You are going to be such a great teacher when you are done your schooling . You were super patient with the kids (and we were a wild bunch) . You really made our day ! We loved every minute of the fishing experience. Who knew we would have so much fun fishing days after a snowstorm in Abbotsford in January !! LOL Thanks so much again Hannah ! We appreciate you and all your hard work ! 10 out of 10 rating from us . Second of all - the walk to the fishing ponds was so peaceful . Nice little hike before all the excitement starts at the ponds . And lastly , what a great building ! So many cool things to look at and read in the room with all the fish exhibits . We really enjoyed our experience ! And what a great idea to give the birthday child a fishing rod ! My son is really excited to use...

This place is amazing! Very educational! If you’ve never fished before, I would definitely suggest going here. We have taken our kids here twice. Each time the staff have been so informative, knowledgeable, and absolutely amazing. Both times, my kids had such a great time. It is only $10 per person - Catch and Release. So worth it!

Second time we booked a day with a bunch of their friends and parents. Tyler was sooooo AWESOME!!! He was running all over the place helping all the kids and had so much patience. I really can’t say enough good things about him. Everyone was so impressed with him!!! Thank you again for all his help!! Because of him all the kids had such an amazing time, even a bunch of teenagers, where fishing wouldn’t normally be their thing. Now they want to do it again....
