One of Alberta best recreational park to visit. This is a treasure of the the province. Overlook by many Alberta's living in Edmonton. People highly not heard of this. If you decide to travel and go here at chinook lake coming from edmonton. At least 5 1/2 hours of drive. Highway 3 and 22 and 522 south.. breath taking view.. my kids enjoyed it .. You'll see crownest pass and another is water ton. Which is not so far here.. please visit the campsite it worth you stay with family here for three days and two night. Atlas staging area is around also.. nice place for crown land camping area. The chinook lake is very beautiful. People boat and swim hear. There is a local loop trail around it and don't miss the hidden falls. Along the trail there is a stream of water follow it. For families planning to visit this place. A beautiful mix of mountains and blue waters, lovely hikes, campsites are fairly private and lots of them. We don't own water toys but many people did (paddle boards, kayaks...nothing motorized allowed). My 10-year old daughter couldn't get enough of swimming in the lake. Actually none of us could - Grandma included! Lake is rocky but nothing some water shoes can't fix! Lots of sites for a mix of tents, tent trailers, campers and large RV units. (FYI - the loop closest to the lake is down an extremely steep hill so I suggest tents only.) We can't...
