Review from a family of five, including two toddlers:

We hiked to Grassi Falls, which took us a total of 37 minutes. We walked at a leisurely pace since our 2-year-old would stop every 10 steps to look at a rock or the trees. The trail was an easy challenge for them, becoming narrower as we got closer to the falls. About 10 minutes before arriving, the trail became wet from little water vein paths from the falls. Our toddlers’ shoes got wet, but they had fun jumping in the puddles and mini rivers.

Fifteen minutes past the falls, we found a viewpoint with a bench to sit down and contemplate the stunning view. The trail still continues upward to Grassi Lakes. The viewpoint offered an amazing vista, worth every step, and felt like a scene out of a magazine, reminiscent of living in Virgin River.

Do note that the trail is not stroller-friendly. Normally, there are two trails, with one being stroller-friendly, but as of July 14, 2024, it is closed. The only trail open is the...

A beautiful natural jewel just a short drive from Canmore. If you take the hiking trail to the Grassi Lakes, you will also pass the eponymous waterfall. During our visit in July 2024, construction work was being carried out on the easier trail, so we had to take the slightly more difficult route (interpretive trail, 1.7 kms). The effort was worth it, because on this route we were rewarded with fantastic views. The sound of the Grassi Falls is wonderful! If you decide to take the interpretive trail, however, you should bear in mind that the path partly runs over stone steps and is therefore not suitable for all visitors (e.g. with strollers or...

Grassi Lakes in Canmore, Alberta, is a stunning natural attraction offering picturesque views and outdoor activities. The area features two clear, turquoise lakes surrounded by rugged limestone cliffs, making it a popular destination for hikers and climbers. The Grassi Lakes Trail is accessible for all skill levels, with two route options: an easier, gradual ascent and a more challenging path with steeper inclines and beautiful waterfall views. The trail leads to breathtaking vistas of the lakes and the Bow Valley. Perfect for a family outing or a serene hike, Grassi Lakes is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts exploring the...

When you enter the Grassi lake area, there's lots of cars parked in the overflow parking area, but be sure to check the main parking lot because there were a few spots still open when we arrived at 2pm. Very beautiful colors in the lake that you can see at the end of your hike. The easy trail was under construction and blocked off at the time, so everyone had to do the difficult path. It took about 30 minutes, the beginning is ok but it starts getting very steep in the middle. It's cool to walk past the mini waterfalls on your way up.
