It took me1:40 one way to get to Lake Agnes along this trail. On the way to Lake Agnes there are several view points that allow you to enjoy the beautiful view. The first view point is located at the place of the changing direction, which offers magnificent view of Lake Louise. The lake looks much brighter from this height. The second view point is an observation deck on the Lake Mirror shore, above which a sheer cliff rises. Well, the third most exciting view point is at Lake Agnes and next to the Tea House🍵. There are 2 ways to get from Lake Mirror to Lake Agnes, to the left of Mirror Lake and to the right along Lake Agnes Trail. To the left of Mirror Lake is a shorter path, but steeper and more dangerous. When climbing in the place in front of the wooden ladder, I had to use my hands and knees to climb. The way back along Lake Agnes Trail to Lake Mirror seemed to me more gentle and not scary. Getting to the Tea House was a real reward for all the efforts. What a pity that it only works from June to September inclusive and was closed in mid-October. At such a time, Lake Louise has not frozen yet, but the alpine Lake Mirror and Lake Agnes have. Many people used a stick to get down. And I find it reasonable, since it is difficult to control movement diring the descent, and I was constantly flying down. Summing up, I want to say that ascent of Lake Agnes Trail is a wonderful journey filled with high physical activity, danger and...
Read moreThe better spot I think is near the bus drop off. There are a couple of bench. One is on the edge of water with nice view of the lake, the mountain behind it. A great spot there for resting after a day hike, waiting for bus whiling taking pictures from where you sit and after sun is from behind. Perfect angle. Might be few people waiting to sit there in turn. To view the lake the best and great picture, you still need to hike up. We did the lake Oesa, then lake Opabin in one combined trip. 8:30am bus. Finished with more than 1 hour to spare for 6:30pm return bus. The bus pickup spot in the morning is near the turn right to parking, uphill. We were focusing on turning into the parking lot and find a spot around 8:10am. Didnt see it and in the parking lot there is another dirt road and a yellow school bus parked there. Just no tourist no park Canada people. We waited there and almost missed our bus. No sign anywhere in parking indicate where bus waiting area is. And quiet a walk from parking to bus if you are in a hurry. Cannot see it from parking lot as bus is up hill around a turn behind trees. It would be nice if Park Canada can raise few sign in parking lot pointing where day bus...
Read moreThis trail is a dream on earth. It’s everything you could ever ask for. Pure Nature. So peaceful. A deafening silence which makes it more stimulating and alluring. We couldn’t make it till the end of it since we started hiking maybe around 2:30ish and we were making stop to admire the stunning and silent scenery around us. I was so jubilant to be there. The hike is very doable and easy, just bring the right clothes and some liquid to hydrate yourself. Try to start hiking early especially during winter time. You don’t wanna be in the dark by 4pm in the middle of the woods with no flashlight. Just come prepare depending on what you want to do. All I want is to come back to this magnificent place sometime during spring/summer and late fall. I’d like to see it again as I did this time, no crowds. Maybe, I was...
