Alberta's great outdoors, get out and see something amazing! Huge provincial park nestled in the heart of the Badlands. Massive natural features carved deep into the prairies, laying open our local geology for all to see. Many pathways to spectacular views, stand on the plains looking down into this huge valley or go to the bottom and stand on the ancient seabed. Mine tours, a suspension bridge and the Royal Tyrell Museum are all in the immediate area. Plan a day trip with hiking in the morning, lunch in Drumheller and escape the heat in the museum for the afternoon. Parking stalls and washrooms available, as in all provincial parks. Admission to the park is free, the museum is reasonably...

If you want a taste of the desert in Alberta then you need to come here this has some pretty amazing scenery and landscape unlike anything else in Alberta, known as the badlands this area boasts the largest dinosaur bone treasures in the world,at one time was teeming with dinosaurs here.Drumheller is nearest town with many things to see and do there including world's largest manmade dinosaur where you can go up and lookout of of it's gigantic mouth. There is a museum at parking area in midland and a really cool interpretive trail that shares the lands history.Great for all ages but be careful of the cute cacti on the ground.Bring water and wear hats for shade it can get...

Its a place ive been coming to for over 30 years now. Lots of cool things to do. The museum is great. Theres a small water park beside the Worlds Tallest Dinosaur. Bring a sun hat and sunscreen and footware you can walk in as there are lots of trails. There are a few camping areas along the river as well as hotels and motels. Horse thief Canyon is very scenic as well as Horseshoe Canyon. Plan to have a full day at least as there is some driving between attractions plus you dont want to have to rush through everything. We picked up a map of the attractions from the ice cream shop across from the worlds tallest dino but with google you can search them as well. Hope this...

If you enjoy well presented and interactive experiences while learning about the past, this is the place for you! We spent hours inside the Royal Tyrrell Museum itself and was very impressed with the top notch quality of the entire museum. The dinosaurs on display were very well done: details to presentation and information were well thought out. I personally was extremely impressed with the excellent video animation presentations, created specifically for the dinosaur museum exhibits by the most excellent, "Kurzgesagt" animation specialists. Also, the interactive displays were really intuitive to explore and engaging. 6 stars out of 5 for this place!!!

I personally love this place. It is about an hour and half drive from Calgary City. One of the best places on the earth to see the bad lands and dendrite landscape. Different layers of the earth can be seen here. This is a place where tons and tons of fossils have been found and continued to be found every day. You can be that lucky person if you take a walk and closely observe at the rocks found in this belt. There is training option as well if you are interested to become a fossils scavenger / volunteer with the research team to find out more about the species that existed millions of years ago. Good luck!
