Review of Our Family Day Outing in Canmore
Our recent family outing in Canmore was nothing short of spectacular! Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Canmore offered an unforgettable day filled with breathtaking scenery and joyful activities for our entire family.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the stunning mountain vistas that define Canmore. The crisp mountain air and the picturesque landscapes set the stage for an incredible adventure. Our group, which included everyone from toddlers to grandparents, found something to love about this charming town.
We started our day with a scenic stroll along the Canmore Nordic Centre's trails. The trails were well-maintained and offered various levels of difficulty, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. The views were simply mesmerizing, with snow-capped peaks and lush forests creating a perfect backdrop for our family photos.
After our hike, we ventured into the heart of Canmore to explore the town's delightful shops and eateries. The local cafes offered delicious treats and hearty meals, and the charming boutiques provided unique souvenirs that weāll cherish as memories of our trip.
One of the highlights of the day was our visit to the nearby Grassi Lakes. The short but invigorating hike to the crystal-clear lakes was an absolute hit. The vibrant turquoise waters and surrounding rock formations were awe-inspiring, and the kids loved splashing around and exploring the area.
We wrapped up our day with a relaxing picnic at one of Canmoreās lovely parks. The picnic area was clean and well-kept, with ample space for our large group to spread out and enjoy a meal amidst the stunning surroundings.
Canmoreās welcoming atmosphere, coupled with its natural beauty and family-friendly activities, made this outing truly memorable. We left with full hearts and a long list of reasons to return. Whether you're an adventure seeker or just looking to relax and enjoy nature, Canmore offers a perfect escape. Highly recommended for any family looking to create...

I just have to share why Quarry Lake holds such a special place in my heart! This stunning park is not only a picturesque escape with the breathtaking Three Sister Mountains towering behind it, but itās also the backdrop of two incredibly unforgettable moments in my life. š
It all started on my very first official date with my girlfriend. I remember how the sun was setting, painting the sky with gorgeous hues, and we walked along the trails, laughing and getting to know each other better. Fast forward to now, and I couldn't think of a more perfect spot to propose to her! Surrounded by nature's beauty, I asked her to be my forever, and thankfully, she said yes! š
The park is a haven for families looking for a fun day outāthere are picnic spots, playgrounds, and plenty of open space for kids to run around and enjoy. Plus, it's dog-friendly, so you can bring along your furry friends for some adventure! š¾
For all the trail lovers out there, youāll appreciate the various paths winding through the landscapes, offering stunning views and plenty of opportunities to soak in the beauty of nature. Whether itās a casual stroll or a more challenging hike, thereās something here for everyone.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is easy to see why this place is so popular and the parking lot almost always nearly full in the summer. Straight ahead and to the right of the parking lot is an "off leash" area for dogs. Go straight across the large field and through a small wooded area and you will come across a pond where dogs can swim, also off leash. You can also bike there. If you go to the right you must curve around to the left after going around the wooded area to get to the pond.
Quarry Lake itself does NOT allow dogs on or off leash, and we saw someone get ticketed for doing just that. It is a short walk (5 minutes or so) to the left of the parking lot. A rather small lake with an easy trail around it that can be hiked in 10-15 minutes or so. There are bathroom facilities, picnic tables, and some emergency throw life rings and ropes stationed around the lake.
It is popular for swimmers, if you can handle cold water, as well as stand up paddle boarders, kayakers, etc. Calm and a great place to learn.
Bears sightings in this area are not common, but they do happen and bear spray is definitely recommended. One walked nearby on a crowded day August, 2018 just to remind everyone this is a wild, wooded area despite...
