Be sure to stop here first when you visit Alert Bay. We weren't able to go inside because of covid, but the host there stands at the door and gives all visitors a super helpful package of info booklets that explain the history of Alert Bay, the ecological park, the U'mista Cultural Centre, and all the totem poles spread across the island. These booklets also had helpful maps that marked points of interest. The host also did a five minute "elevator speech" about the history of the island that really helped us get our bearings.
