Yoho National Park is often overlooked in favor of more well-known parks like Banff and Jasper. . However, for those who are looking for a more off-the-beaten-path park experience, Yoho is definitely worth a visit. Here are some of the most notable places I had visited over there : đŸ›ŁïžTrans-Canada Highway: The Trans-Canada Highway runs through Yoho National Park, providing easy access to many of the park’s natural attractions. The highway is a scenic drive in its own right, offering stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. 🏡 Emerald Lake: This picturesque lake is located within Yoho National Park and is known for its emerald green color. You can hike around the lake, rent a canoe, or stay at the nearby Emerald Lake Lodge. Takakkaw Falls: One of the highest waterfalls in Canada, 🌊🌊Takakkaw Falls is a must-see attraction in Yoho National Park. You can hike to the base of the falls or view them from a distance. 🌊Wapta Falls: A scenic hike will take you to Wapta Falls, a powerful waterfall that drops 30 meters. Kicking Horse Pass: The Kicking Horse Pass is a mountain pass that runs through Yoho National Park, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Spiral Tunnels: The Spiral Tunnels are a marvel of engineering, as they allow trains to navigate the steep terrain of the mountains. The tunnels are located along the Trans-Canada Highway and can be viewed from a nearby viewpoint. There are also many hiking trails, campgrounds, and other attractions within the park itself. Plan your itinerary according to your interests and the amount of time you have available, and be sure to check park information and weather conditions before your visit. Nice stop - it’s an informational stop that explains the building of the train system. It gives the history and shows how it was built. There was a special spiral track and tunnel built to allow the train system to be able to get down the mountains safely. It was a nice learning stop. Then we sent to the upper Spiral Tunnel and saw the upper tunnel through the mountain. It was challenging to see with all the trees but we found it. Nice restrooms available at this location.

This has, and will always be one of my favourite spots in Canada. While it has changed a lot over the years, one may still be able to catch a long train looping over itself if you're there at the right time. Unfortunately, the viewpoint that used to hang over the tracks is no longer there, and the new point drastically reduces the visibility of tourists trying to get a glimpse of trains...

Here you see one (!) train in the Lower Spiral going from left to right at the bottom of your screen. It pops up at the right side of your screen going to the left and entering the tunnel. It comes out of the tunnel outside of the screen and going from right to left in the middle of the screen. Construction began in 1907! What a brilliant feat of engineering and hard...
