Helmcken Falls Rim Trailhead — Attraction in Area A (Wells Gray Country)

This is a treasure of the nature just like the whole area around Clear Water. You just have to drive around 40 mins from Clear Water to reach this Stunning Waterfall of 140 meters hight. Lots of parking, but limited, then the main view point is just 3 minutes away from your car, and then you can do a easy hike which is around 1.5 one way 3 hours total according to internet, I didn’t do it because it was getting dark but this is one of those hidden places of nature that you don’t see twice...

Very nice trail along the rim of the Murtle river to the Helmcken falls. The trail starts a the parking lot goes basically the whole time through the dense forest. It takes about 2,5h hours to cover the track back and forth. The are lots of roots and rock, so no flat surfaces but no problem either. The view of the falls is amazing. Depending on the year beware...

De Helmcken trail is lang (2,5 uur)maar prima te doen voor een beetje wandelaar met goede schoenen (dus geen teenslippers). De ondergrond is een zacht bospad met veel wortels maar er is nauwelijks verval, dus je hoeft niet echt te klimmen. Verwacht geen bewegwijzering, uitkijkplatforms of andere toeristische hulp. It is what it is; een bospad langs een snelstromende rivier en aan het eind van het pad een geweldig zicht op de waterval (maar eerlijk gezegd is het uitzichtpunt aan de andere oever mooier en dat kun je vanuit je auto kruipend bereiken). Als ik moet kiezen tussen trails: Dan doe ik de Moulsfall trail, die is bijzonder doordat je onder de waterval uitkomt en geeft ook veel meer voldoening want het uitzicht op de waterval is onbereikbaar...
