Kalamalka Lake, aka the βLake of Many Colors,β is so beautiful itβll make you double-check if your sunglasses came with an Instagram filter. The water is an unbelievable mix of turquoise and emerald, which basically screams, βTake a selfie here!β You might think youβve stumbled into the Caribbean, but nope, youβre still in BC, just without the tropical cocktails.
Swimming is a must if you can handle the cool water, but letβs be real, the view alone is worth the trip β even if youβre just pretending to be outdoorsy while lounging on the beach. There are also some great hiking and biking trails, so you can earn those post-adventure snacks (or nap) while soaking up some killer views.
In short, Kalamalka Lake will leave you wondering why more people arenβt flocking here β but hey, at least that means fewer people photobombing your epic...

The turquoise water is beautiful, clear and calm (save for the occasional powered watercraft zipping through). There is a bit of a descent down from the parking lot to the beaches though so keep that in mind if youβre planning to setup for a long day. Also there is no running water (which also implies outhouses) so prepare accordingly.
But you can literally paddle board all day long. I think I dozed off for about 20 minutes and I had drifted only a few feet.
Thereβs a public beach area a bit further north as well but not sure how...
