Very fun, very close, no troubles finding the place on the side of the highway when you enter Vernon. We showed up about closer to when it opened, 10am on a Sunday, TONS of parking! Hardly anyone there because it's a bit early. Driving through the parking afterwards is a bit tricky as the day progresses because everyone seems to park where they want.
There are 3 to 4 "levels" of parking if that's what you want to call them. The switch backs have "NO PARKING" painted on the corners but you'll see people parked there anyway, just careful of the foot traffic. The bottom "level" of parking has a beautiful stair way up to the entrance way and then the parking levels which are at, and above the entrance. You CAN park your vehicle at the park entrance but good luck. "Campers" might be there. The top "levels" of parking have just the roadway as the path down to the park entrance.
The water slide entrance fees are fair, a bit pricey, we just got the family pack, 4 people, and children under 4? Are free, all for $75 plus taxes. This gives you bracelets and gets you in to the slides for the whole day.
There are washrooms, change rooms, and some "VIP" patio/deck type area above the concession building. Concession building has a small menu but tasty food. Got 2 fries for about $9. Enough for maybe one hungry person Haha.
The water slides themselves are a blast! Lots of fun! Maybe a total of 9? Individual slides and one tube slide area where you can take turns riding a tube down a staircase of waterfalls, SO MUCH FUN! Must be over 4 feet to ride on the tubes.
Oh and all the staff will constantly ask for you to hold your eyewear, in you pockets or hands, while you are sliding down or riding on any of the slides. Kind of a hindrance when you have to wear prescription lens to actually see anything but understandable because they could be lost, damaged or cause injury.
There are 2 kiddie slides, 2 beginner slides, and then I think 4 slides of every different kinds. lots and lots of fun.
I mostly stayed on the two beginners slides because I had a 1 year old toddler with me who I could not keep him from smiling and laughing so hard while we rode down speeding towards the wading pools at the bottom of the slides.
Overall I give the park 4 stars, the things I didn't really like were the amount of honey bees and WASPS that are everywhere that are mostly interested in the garbages but they will definitely check out anything left of the picnic tables. Also the picnic tables very flimsy feeling.
But the slides, massive hottub area, and tube slides are definitely worth the whole experience, easy to enjoy don't forget the sun screen. I also recommend bringing your own...
Read moreMy kids and I had a great time. The lifeguards were on point, very mindful of helping little ones off the slides. It was my childrens' first time to an outdoor water slude park, so at first they were a little scared of going off the end. The life guards were patient and understanding and helpful towards them & I and made our experience nice. There is a central hot tub that you can warm up in. They have a nice little concession area- we did not eat there as we packed a lunch but it looked/smelled good. There are lockers on site for $2/$5deposit. You get your $5 back when you turn in the key. We got there about 30mins prior to the slides opening & we were not even the first! My suggestion is get there early. If you are by yourself with lots of kids bring a friend to help. I'm a single mom of 4 and despite my kids being older it was a little of. a juggling act trying to make sure everyone was getting down the slides they wanted. Pretty typical single mom thing but helpful info for planning your trip. HUGE suggestion wear less... so for boys honestly a speedo or shorter style suit & girls one piece or bikini without strings- if you are wearing a T-shirt, long board shorts or the kids are in those UV suits you'll go super slow-even stop & hold up everyone. There was a group of girls when my family was there all wearing UV suits & they actually held everyone up BIG time as it took each one 7-10 minutes to get down ONE slide. Don't be that person, use sun block. It is outside, so you'll burn pretty easy. It also has an incredible view of Swan Lake, the mountains, nice blue skies. There are a fair amount of water slide options-10 or so, & you walk back up. I liked that it is just a paved path rather than steps. At the top there's a somewhat shaded area for while you wait, there were multiple lifeguards, some of the slides even have a red/green light to tell you when to go. There was lots of parking, but for a good spot get there early. My kids & I had a great experience & will probably go back...
Read moreHad a blast with my 5year old at splashdown outdoor waterpark! It was already busy by the time we arrived, but luckily we were able to find a picnic table. There are safety live vests you're able to borrow once paid for admission through the gates and there is a gift shop, ice cream and cold drinks bar and as well as a burger and grill bar with burgers, hotdogs , fries etc. .. They also have Cabanas you can pre rent online so you have your own personal spot either located on the hillside beside the slides or upper level where only persons who have a wristband are allowed to enter in. You can check out their website online for more details regarding cabannas!! You're welcomed to bring your own pop up tents, cooler picnic and what not and there is a designated smoking area away from the facility but not off site as once you leave you cannot return back inside the park, so if I were you be sure to remember EVERYTHING you will need like sunscreen, water bottles, snacks, shade tent etc..There were many slides to choose from, some slides were for over a certain height, like the aqua rush ( they are the newest built slides) there's double slides where you're able to bring your little one with you that are fun for both kid and adult ( you do get a little zoom⚡!) not scary for your little one either though, there is a ramp slide, where it's very wide, also a slide where you require a water tube and there is a circle hot tub basically in the middle of the park that is quite nice on those windier days. There is a little pool where you can swim if you're not a big fan of slides as well, a deep end and a shallow end for little kids, they do have slides that run into the pools but there is big enough space to avoid being in the way and you can enjoy just...
