This park is a nice drive, 12 km from Hwy 1 west of Salmon Arm BC, Canada. Watch for hwy signs or use Google Map to locate this park. The road to the park is two lane, paved and in good condition. This park has private showers heated by solar panels. There is a large day use area with pea gravel beach and large modern adventure playground. Lots of trees for shade make this a great place on hot summer days. As a bonus there is a dog beach with a pea gravel beach but nice tables, grass and shade. The campsites have no services but are level, large and moderately private. The park has drinking water, sani-dump, flush toilets and a boat launch.

A wonderful campground. The campsite are clean with fire pit. Very clean in general with lots of walking trails around. Showers are very clean. Washrooms have waters. There is a magnificent waterfall which is only 10min walk from the campground. The only issue was that the campground was very busy with lots of families and it was very loud at night with some people playing music and talking up to midnight. Also we bought fire wood and it was 12$ for only a few logs which I think it was very overpriced. Other than that everything was perfect.

Excellent place to take a family, clean, well maintained, friendly, and absolutley beautiful. We got a site with the creek running behind it, but also very close to the beach. The sound of the running water was so peaceful! The swimming area was great as well. We kayaked all around the area too with lots and lots to see. Overall excellent park and campground! Tip: try to get a site that backs onto the lake or the creek. The lake especially if the kids want to swim, just nice to be so close to the swim area.

My wife and I recently stayed at Herald Provincial Park from June 25th to 27th, and it was an absolute gem!

Here’s why I highly recommend this park:

Beautiful Campsites: We stayed at Site 3, and the natural beauty surrounding it was breathtaking. The lush forest and serene lake create a tranquil atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding.

Friendly Staff: The park staff truly made my stay memorable. The front gate attendant was not only welcoming but also incredibly informative. And the maintenance man, originally from Ontario, was both friendly and professional. Their warm hospitality added to the overall positive experience.

Scenic Waterfront: The water is conveniently located to the right of the main gatehouse. Whether you want to swim, kayak, or simply enjoy the view, the

Margaret Falls: Don’t miss the walk to Margaret Falls—the best part of the park!

The trail is picturesque, and the falls themselves are awe-inspiring. Overall, Herald Provincial Park is one of the nicest provincial parks I’ve visited.

If you’re looking for natural beauty, friendly staff, and a peaceful retreat, this is the place to be. Highly...

Park it self is nice....but boat launch need serious attention. Fluctuation on this big lake makes water goes up and down in the level. When the water is low , the cement slabs are getting short and make a 12" - 18" drop off on the end. In this scenery, when launching the boat the trailer wheels dropped down and cement slab edge do the damage to the boat. The few boats were damage and I was a witness to it. To avoid that to launch the boat the people use sides of the cement so make this very inconvenient They try to fix it by dumping same gravel at the end of the cement slab but it didn't last for long. It is just temporary fix After few boat launches the gravel is spread , pushed away and drop off is still there .In my opinion they should add one more cement slab that will fix permanently this problem. Also they need to build a really wooden dock. The one they have now is useless .Looks like a metal ladder thrown in the water. These days with expensive boats the people don't even come close to this .Hope they will...

Great campground. Beautiful spot. Not the most private sites i have stayed at. Alot of the sites back onto a trail so you've got people walking by on both sides. Grab a spot by the creek if you have young kids. They're very cool. Only complaint is there was one particular park attendant who let the position go to her head a bit unfortunately. Walked the beach finding something to talk to each group about. Wallked over to us and began looking for something, anything....Grilled me and my wife about whether or not our drinks had alcohol in them ( they were in insulated coffee mugs) then proceeded to the next group beside me and hassled them about having their towels blocking the beach ( which they clearly were not) and then warned them that smoking on the beach is not allowed in a loud voice even though they were not smoking. There was a bit of an argument and I had heard the attendant state something about seeing a vape pen. Otherwise a excellent choice for some...
