I went to Echo Lake Provincial Park last summer while on a drive with a friend. I had never been to the Lumby area before, and thought it was really quite pretty. The drive to the park down Creighton Valley Road is nice, just be forewarned that the road is gravel (don't worry, it's a easy to drive non 4x4 road)
The park itself is absolutely lovely. Echo Lake is one of the prettiest lakes I have seen in the area (You'll fall in love with the color of the water) and I really wish I had brought a Kayak with me! For those who want to stay the night, Echo Lake Resort has camping spots and cabins available!
If you are up for the 20km gravel road drive I highly recommend it. I fully plan on returning this spring/summer with a...
Read moreThe scenery is breathtaking, the lake is deep and cold, and the fish are abundant. If you want to get really far away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go. While visiting the park we stayed at Echo Lake resort. It has cabins ranging from large to small as well as tenting and RV sites. There are showers and flush toilets as well as the standard rustic outhouses. The boat launch is fairly easy to access and there are boat rentals on site which was really helpful for us as we don't own a boat. The only downsides are the limited electrical access and the very limited Wi-Fi (which is only available near the office). Definitely a spot I will return too many times in the...

We were told dogs off leash on site was allowed and then told that sitting dogs beside their owner on site was a leash required area. There's only two toilets for approx 10 sites??? Claims that sites are large enough for 6 people to camp on each site..... really? Where? We had 6 sites booked close together and our party was being reprimanded for blocking lake views when none of us were complaining. Management (new management) might want to keep track of their bookings. I don't forsee me going back. There's lots of other options in the area for camping. I'll try one of...
