Balfour Golf & Recreation — Attraction in Area E (Balfour/Cottonwood Lake)

Best course I've ever golfed at, such a tucked away gem!! Im a few months late to review, but with the season upon us here goes: To start the customer service was incredible in the shop, topped off by giving and explaining the awesome course and yardage book! The course itself is just gorgeous, it was pouring the front nine both times I played here, but it did not matter.. it was just too nice of a spot! The back nine is something else.. way up and way down (literally) with steep challenging fairways and amazing views! The sun and rainbows came out on 17 and 18, which topped off the best day of golf I''ve ever had.. I decided to play another 18 and ended up shooting a personal best! Long story short, I would recommend this awesome course (nay, experience) to anyone and everyone, and will be traveling from hours away just...

Really enjoy playing this beautiful course, the most beautiful in the Kootenays! It is challenging and at times humbling! The fairways and greens are still not in the best of shape following this past winters destruction, but are fast improving. Some of the greens bad spots make for difficult putting at times as the ball tends to bounce around rather than running true. However for someone like me who is not a great golfer anyway, it is not much of a detriment! When the greens have fully recovered, I would give it 5 stars! All the staff, inside and outside are great to deal with, helpful and considerate and the restaurant is awesome with great staff and wonderful food! ...

This golf course is always in great shape! Club house staff are helpful and friendly, only thing that was off when we were there the last couple times the golf carts were questionable. The first one had steering issues so we traded it for a different one. The second time we push started it probably half the holes on the round. The last time we were there it looked like they were starting to get some new blue ones in the stable, so these ones were probably going for trade in soon. All in all it was still a great experience, except for #11, that hole...
