Kootenay Lakeview Resort, BW Signature Collection — Hotel in Area E (Balfour/Cottonwood Lake)

We stayed at Kootenay Lakeview Resort and it was truly a highlight of our trip. The view from our room was absolutely stunning—unobstructed lake and mountain scenery, with blue skies, fluffy clouds, and shimmering waters that felt almost unreal. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet, and we were lucky to enjoy the place without any other guests around, which made the experience feel extra special. Our room was clean, and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful, which made the whole experience even better—they really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Although there was no kitchen in the unit, there are BBQ free for guest use. And there’s a restaurant at the nearby golf course just five minutes away by foot, which made dining very convenient. The resort also provides free breakfast in the morning, which was a nice touch. We were especially thrilled to find a private outdoor jacuzzi facing the lake. We were so excited to host our wedding at the Lakeview in July of 2020. Then covid hit. We realized that the 100+ guest wedding that we hoped for wasn't going to be an option anytime over the summer of 2020. The staff at Lakeview worked with us to push our wedding date to July 2021 without hassle and without additional costs. Then, as 2021 rolled around and with numbers hitting record highs in January (and weddings limited to 10 people including the officiant), Lakeview was very reasonable and provided us with the choice to confirm our booking or provide a refund. The staff worked with us once again when we decided to cancel the venue entirely (with the intent to replace it with a small personal ceremony in our backyard). We are sad that we aren't able to provide a review based on an actual stay, but feel it is just as important to recognize the Lakeview was willing to work with guests through these challenging times. Gizmo Jay the travelling paw journal: AUG2024: We had a relaxing time at the Kootenay Lakeview. The room was very clean 👌 The bed was very much comfortable and I slept very well over the course of 2 nights staying there. They've accommodated us with my hoomans in a very welcoming way as if we live there. I had lots of space to roam around the resort. We had a quick peek and scouted their golf area (during post 'golfers' hours of course) and we took loads of picture as a memoir. I very much loved going to the lobby cabin because the staff was so friendly and we had unlimited access to snacks and drinks😆 I enjoyed their rice crispy and cornflakes along with my other snacks I brought with me. It was fun and relaxing place to be.
