Every trailhead has different stories to reveal; that's what Goat Ridge Trailhead and Porcupine Peak have to tell. The trail starts just next to Lindeman Lake. Before you head onto the main trail, take your first possible left from the parking lot towards the river. With a bit of searching, you'll find a path: cross the log over the river, take another left, and then start heading straight up the slope. Overall, you'll climb nearly 1,000 meters in elevation gain to reach the peak.

This is a steep trail that takes you to a really amazing lookout point, especially during the fall. The views are so amazing, and with all that vibrant fall foliage along the way, you could spot most of the frames painted with fall shades. If you continue along the ridge past the lookout point, you will eventually reach Goat Mountain, as there are three peaks along the way. Even if you hike to the first peak, it’s worth it. The best view is right at the top, and it's stunning. The trail is easy to follow but very steep the majority of the time. All markers are super clear and direct.

On the route to the lookout, there are more than four rope assist sections, so if your attempting this hike, you must be ready to be challenged and should bring proper hiking equipment. It's all the effort you make to reach up there. The 360-degree views over the peak are spectacular. The peak towards the straight is Flora Peak from the left lake over from the main peak, where you could see Greendrop Lake, down below Lindeman Lake, then towards the right Chilliwack Lake, Mt. Webb, Mt. MacDonald, Mt. Lindeman, slightly Mt. Baker, and Williams Peak.

Note: As the trail is steep and challenging, it’s only recommended during the summer with a dry surface. Gather as much as information possible before you plan to do this hike, as it’s very difficult to find the starting point for this trailhead, and as the route type is out and back with multiple rope sessions, you should be confident, as along the way you may encounter...

Incredible view!! One of the prettiest I have ever seen. You have the view of three lakes(Lindeman, Flora, and Greendrop).

This hike is harder and steeper than on paper with some technical sections. Slippery with wet/dry areas especially after the second view point. But your every step is worth it and will be rewarded with...

The trail is getting more dangerous on the first rope climbing section the big rock base is getting washed off.

Some bees at the first section of the hike ,my friend got stung it's probably a good idea to bring an after bite with you

Post COVID revisiting goat ridge , I am definitely out of shape but still...
