5 stars for the trail and area 1 star for the social experience This was a stunning walk with beautiful scenery, sitting area, and swimming area! The people on the trail were very nice and considerate! The visit should have been amazing at the water... Unfortunately, while we were sitting there there were a bunch of kids knocking over the stacked rocks previous visitors left... they then started picking up those stones and throwing it at us and the other visitors while their parents did nothing but watch them do all this.... The disruptive children and parents who weren't stopping their behaviors kind of ruined the visit so we didn't stay for too long. The walk back in both directions was uphill. Not too bad but I had to stop quite few times due to my back and my dog wasnt able to make it up all the hills on the way out so he hopped into my back pack (he's a small toy poodle with luxating patella.) I still really enjoyed the walk and scenery though! It is a fair distance for a walk.. so with my back problems I probably wouldn't go back in fear of having the same experience as my first time... it's a shame as the whole experience up until that point was amazing! 5 stars for the trail and area 1 star for the social experience

So, google said to park at the Coombs candy store. That is correct if there is no parking across on the shoulder cuz the pathway to the hole is across from the candy store. If you park on the should it is better. Once you get to the pathway, keep going to the left. You will make a few left turns in the path. And an open field. There are signs that are marked. (See pictures). Once you get to the bottom of the hill, there are two ways to go. The right will get to the front of the hole and the left will get you to the back. My pictures are left/back. I crossed the water over rocks to get a picture inside the hole but it is very hard in the spring time to do that maybe better in summer with aqua shoes. I got my hiker/socks all wet. If you go the right side/front, it was deeper waters with no rocks to walk on. We took our dog. Easy walk down and up from the hole but didn't not take the dog across to the hole but it might be easier in the summer when there is less water. We went in May and the trail was muddy. The gps helped but half way cut out.

Hole In The Wall is a natural feature located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, near Tofino. The attraction is a rock formation with a hole carved out by the ocean waves over time. Visitors can access the spot by hiking along a trail and take a closer look at the hole. During low tide, some visitors also choose to swim through the hole. However, during my trip to Hole In The Wall, I found that there was nothing particularly special about it. While the hike to the spot was scenic and the rock formation itself was interesting, there was nothing that stood out as unique or thrilling about the experience. It's possible that factors such as weather or crowds may have played a role in my underwhelming experience. Overall, while Hole In The Wall may be worth checking out if you have some extra time while in the Tofino area, I would not consider it a must-see attraction. If you are short on time or looking for a more exciting or unique experience, there may be other activities or attractions in the area that would be a better fit for you.

It is literally a hole in the wall! It's taken centuries, if not millennia, for the steam to pierce and cut it's way through the rock wall and spill out into the pond/creek. If you have the gear or are willing to get wet, it's definitely worthwhile to cross the creek and walk up to the wall. There's also a pedestal of sorts that looks like it could have been the support foundation for a bridge yet no bridge exists. Either way it's a great place to take pictures. Getting there can be a bit confusing. The easier way to get to the hole in the wall is to first park at Coombs Country Candy. It is private property so I suggest asking permission before you head off to the trail and when you get back, maybe treat yourself to an ice cream (and also as a thank you for parking on their property). Next, cross the busy Alberni highway and start walking up the hill along the highway until you see a trail to your right. Take that trail. After that, follow your Google maps, alltrails, or any other hiking guide to get to the hole in the wall.

Hole in the Wall on Vancouver Island is a hidden gem worth visiting. The trail, while not marked very well, leads through a lush forest to a hole in the rock originally created for a water line. Now, a small waterfall splashes through the hole into a crystal clear pool in the forest. This fun little hike attracts both tourists and locals. Located on a U-bend in Roger’s Creek, the hole was made to create a shortcut for water through the ridge. Although the pipe was removed in the 1960s, remnants like the concrete slab and the hole itself remain. Despite the lack of clear signage, the adventure of finding your way adds to the charm. The serene surroundings and unique beauty of the rock formation make the trek worthwhile. For those seeking a bit of adventure and a picturesque spot, Hole in the Wall is a must-visit on Vancouver Island. Vancity Adventure

Parking g can be dificult but it's worth the hike. I jogged down in around 5-6 minutes quite easily, Back up was all up hill but my time was about the same, but I was out of breath when I got the the top (entered from the trail head across the intersection at Combs Country Candy of whom are open until 7:00 for a nice treat either before or after you get back. The trails were getting quite dark by 7:30 PM but the water was still nice enough for a swim. Over all the whole trip took me about 30 minutes to explore both sides, snap some nice photos, and get my legs wet. For those who are less stable on loose gravel plan a 10-15 minute walk in and the same going back out. This hike would not be easily completed by anyone with a cane or mobility considerations.
