My partner, a friend and I walked by the museum on a weekend when it was unfortunately closed, and knew we had to return on a weekday. I’m so happy we did. This museum is unique in that it felt that the displays and historians had stories- not just about the ongoing of the town but of the human aspect. Everything was fun to look at and I really enjoyed speaking to the friendly people who run the museum who talked about people in history as if they were old friends. Read moreWe visited during the week while we were staying locally and were very glad we did! Peter gave us a lovely greeting and amazing introduction, and then left us to explore the local history exhibits by ourselves. At the end he was very happy to answer our questions and point us in the direction of further points of interest.
The exhibits themselves cover a wide range of local interest but definitely allow you to easily visualise how things would have been!
This museum definitely needs more recognition and support than it is currently recieving!

This little gem of a museum was one of the best parts of our trip. For such a small town they have historical items and documentation other much larger cities don't even come close to matching.
