Great beach spot for the family. The beach had improved a lot over the years compared to what it used to be. The beach used to be smaller but when they dredged out the creek to bring in the submarine they brought all of the sand up onto the beach and made it a great place to go.

There is an ice cream spot on the beach for those wanting to cool down. The main location is just up the hill but their ice cream truck is much closer.

The beach is divided into two areas - one more busy than the other. The main area can house more people but the secluded area across the bridge is more private and quieter.

You can bbq on the beach ad there is no bylaw or sign indicating otherwise (as of August 2021). However, dogs are strictly not allowed as the signage and bylaw say.

Parking is best in the morning when there are tonnes of spots. By noon it is usually filled up and you'll need to circle the parking lot multiple times or park...

We came to this beach purely because we ate at Izzy's with a view to tour the submarine and the lighthouse located up the road from the beach.

We saw the nearly full car park and the rather small beach and decided that paying 18 CAD at the nearby provincial park giving us in return lots of space from large noisy families would be better. Even the water is better at the park because of the large stones creating a bit of a protection and making the water a few degrees warmer.

This beach is almost as small as Port Dover beach and we have been told at the Labour Day weekend it was madness every single day, including restaurants etc - I prefer to be around the house than to be out near screaming crowds. So expect this beach to be very crowded at weekend when the weather...

I’ve been to lots of crazy busy beaches with lots of fun and music and energy and this isn’t one of them. This beach is clean and quiet and there is ample room to lie out and sunbathe but that’s about all that it offers. There’s a little chip truck that sells your basic fries and drinks and freezies and there are bathrooms. There is not very much excitement going on at Port Burwell. There is a nice boardwalk you can walk out onto which is nice. In town, which is only minutes to walk to, you can climb up a lighthouse and go to a little museum, walk through a subway and there’s a few more places to eat. I’d recommend coming here for a quiet, lazy day, but definitely not for a fun...

I instantly fell in love with this charming spot during a visit for a solar eclipse event! The beach and pier were impressively clean, even the washrooms, which is always a pleasant surprise. There's a nice short walk available that lets you really take in the beauty of the area, and the kindness of the neighborhood adds to the overall peaceful vibe. The town itself is on the smaller side, so you might not find everything you're used to in bigger cities, but that's part of its charm. It's the perfect serene and peaceful area for a day's getaway. If you're looking for a quiet spot to relax and enjoy nature, this is definitely it.

It is a small beach. The water is pretty muddy but pretty walkable as it is kinda flat to wade into. As of July, the water was just a bit chilly, no a big deal though. The parking is free but there are limited spots available so if you are not here early on weekends, parking situation may be tough. There a couple of volleyball nets on the beach so you could bring a ball if you’d like to play. There are a few portable toilets but things can go down south pretty fast. There are no lifeguards stationed at the beach. There are small eateries and ice cream shops near by.
