Gypsum Mine swimming and scenic view — Attraction in Belle-Marche

Gypsum Mine Trail is a 2.6 kilometre (1.6 mile) out and back trail located near Cheticamp. The trail begins at the Cheticamp Back Road parking lot and leads to Gypsum Mine Lake. The trail is wide and mostly flat but be prepared for a short, steeper section leading to the lookout. You may encounter ATV's that can kick up a bit of dust along the way. Bring your swimsuit as there were several people enjoying the cool clear waters.

Well maintained path with lots of gypsum along the way to find. Just look for those shiny pieces that are kind of white, kind of clear! It is roughly 25-30 minutes there and back. Beautiful view of the mountains with the water. There is some up / downhill that can be hard on the back / knees. So keep that in mind. But you aren't rock climbing. Breathtaking place! The path is not too long or hard, just be prepared for some steep areas. At the end of the trail is a stunning lake with a beautiful blue-green colour.
