I have been going to Snyder’s farm (previously Kim Glos) for about 30 years give or take. So I have witnessed all the changes over the many years. I definitely see the upgrades and cool attractions and additions made. I haven’t been to Snyders in 2 years mainly because of Covid. I don’t know if it’s because my kids are growing up and out of Snyder’s or the mass amount of changes done to the farm is a far cry from the once anticipated, spooky fall farm or if it’s because my kids are growing out of the toddler vibes, but this year, we left because we were bored and a bit annoyed. Where do I even start? The first place we headed was the hay ride. I’m sure the 2 and 3 year olds loved it, but if you’re a 10 year old boy, you might feel like Old Macdonald had a farm should be playing in the background. Then the corn bandit appears. The 2 actors seems to have forgot their lines a few times. It made for a very awkward silence from the passengers on the hayride. Most of the ride was just riding through the forest, counting wooden ghosts and riding past a bunch of future Christmas trees. The driver of the tractor didn’t even communicate with the passengers as they did in previous years. There was just a recording of a farm song playing in the background and a prerecorded person guiding the tour. Next there was 2 giant bouncy pillow things for the kids and the people in charge of who is allowed on and the numbers were also very confused. It was mini chaos. We were told to go over to the side after being told we can go on and then stopped on our way on. Just in that moment, 2 grown adults that thought it would be fun to go on a child’s bouncy pad barged past our place in line (not stopped) and took my sons place that he was waiting for. Instead of saying anything or waiting, we just went walked away. My Son had no interest in the playground. It seemed that he outgrew it. It’s neat for the really little ones but my 10 & 13 year old had no interest. Then we made our way to the haunted houses. That seemed to be the highlight of the park. There wasn’t any actors as I remember in previous years and overall it wasn’t scary. There were 2&3 year olds going though with no issues. We then went to a food stand. I was standing in line and had one person in front of me. When it was my turn, the worker completely overlooked me and took the person behind me order. Then she walked away for a few moments like I wasn’t even there. Once she came back I said excuse me, I was actually next in line and you took her order before me. She said I know and didn’t seem to really care. I reluctantly ordered 2 pretzels and a can of coke and it came to approximately 20.00$. The pretzels were hard and they came with 2 containers of cheese dipping sauce which were warmed up. We then walked over to the petting zoo. There were lots of chickens, some Goats, sheep, a cow, pigs and there was a live singer that didn’t seem like she felt appreciated. That’s just the vibe I got but could be wrong. We didn’t stay very long in this area. There was a giant animatronic troll near the haunted houses which was very very cool. I already spent 140$ on tickets (4), 2 pretzels and a can of coke and felt very disappointed so I didn’t bother checking out the gift shop or bakery and seeing how over priced even 2 pretzels were, I skipped out on paying for a pumpkin as there is a pumpkin patch close to my house that is reasonably priced. My overall thought. This is a great place for 7 and under. If your kids are getting older, they Likely will feel the same disappointment my kids did. It is really overpriced as if you’re not prepared to spend 100$ to feed the family, make something at home before you come or grab a pizza somewhere afterwards. I definitely will give Snyder’s another try next year. I really think that if they were more inclusive in their age groups, they would do very well. I would love to see the witches forest come back like it use to be. Maybe have a few rides running geared to age groups. My son is too old for the day farm but too young for the fear...
Read moreI'm going to give this place five stars overall but take it with a grain of salt. I came here five years ago and it was a wonderful experience, not over crowded and so much fun for families, you can spend the day here easily. Went again for a second time yesterday and yes, the place still has all the fun things available but wow, the crowd was unbelievable. The second I pulled in the lot I already thought uh oh, this place looks insanely busy. And it was. Every thing had a massive line. You want to eat? You're going to wait in a line to order and then another line for your food to be done. You want to go to the ladies washroom? Line. Almost all activities except for playground? Line. The worst was the wait for the wagon ride, my God, there was no chance for that. The line was 100+ people deep at all times. I've never seen that before at a pumpkin patch by entire life. Of course you expect places to have people there but this was actually baffling. No fault to the owners or staff at all, I'm actually so happy they're so busy and the staff really are super friendly and helpful. But maybe put a cap on how much people can come so that everyone can enjoy themselves instead of going from one long line to another long line. It really put a huge damper on the day and we ended up leaving after a couple of hours because it just wasn't enjoyable to stand around and wait for everything. Please consider for next year to only offer a certain amount of tickets per day or have time slots for people to come and go because this really took the joy out of the experience and we drove a hour and a half...
Read moreI looked online for prices and information. I saw that the weekday prices were less than weekend prices. There was no indication that buying tickets online ahead of time would be cheaper than buying at the farm. When I got there and asked for 4 tickets and she rang it up it came to $54.20. I said oh it's cheaper online, the cashier said with the fees it was about the same price, so I bought the tickets. When I came home and checked the internet with fees the tickets would have cost me $47.56. That's a pretty big difference. After purchasing our overpriced tickets we were told that there were less attractions open and no food trucks and that they had mac n' cheese at the bakery. It also does not say this anywhere on their website. While we were there my daughter remembered the duck race game and wanted to play. Last year Snyder's provided the rubber ducks, this year they put a vending machine in and you have to buy ducks for $1 each. (which means you would have to buy at least 2 for a race) They were also not giving samples of the apple cider. My family from out of town were not sure about...
