Read all of the recent reviews. I started fishing here again weekly after a couple of decades. 1st I will say I bought a membership. 85 plus TX a year. Next I will say the staff are great especially the ladies. They take a lot of heat when there are no fish or fish biting but still maintain composure and keep a smile and offer tips. Next I will say from may till Thanksgiving I met some wonderful people fishing. The surroundings are beautifully kept. The top pond though, halfway through the summer builds with thick carpet like algae. Very very green. Staff come around every so often check up on you and your fish as 3 is the limit. There are customers who have been going there nearly 50 years! And the history compared to now is unbelievable. Most told of when they sticked the fish right in front if fisherman. Now we ate told its at 830 in the morning before park opens at 9. Some said the park is under new management and it is showing. I mainly went through the week. Sometimes daily or every 2 or 3 days. Sometimes I caught and sometimes I didn't. I tried everything as I have been fishing for 50 years. There is a handful haffy pros who catch non stop when they go. But i have seen stret he's where no one catches a thing. It us disappointing when families of 12 or more go and pay the $17 fishing entrance each and don't catch a thing. There are some days you catch something decent, but I have seen too many tiny 6" fish being caught. It's not fair to the fish life and what are you going to eat from that minniw of a trout? There is a video of 2 again guys who recently posted a video on you tube. They are catching tiny trout and making them look like 10 pounders. You will need 3 of those to feed 1 person. After fishing there wewkly from beginning to end I feel this is the best way to review. All in all I think the park is beautiful and great trails with breath taking views. There are washrooms. However the entrance fee dies not relate to the fishing well at all. Taking experience from those who have been going since the 70's compared to now, value is lost. I think it is safe to say when you spend hours daily weekly and try every bait there is, one thing you might be learning is when they stock the fish and when they do not. I mention this because I have seen some catch, but many not. I have found it's easier to catch trout in the wild than haffy most times. Plus no entrance fee. Don't get me wrong, it's great to walk the trails, and bbq and enjoy with family. Fishing? Is hit and miss. Sometimes you hit fish, sometimes your wallet misses money I can say i saw a couple 3 pounders caught and 1, 7 pound. Daily under a pound ir around there average. Up date: fishing there now, 2025 went 4 times I'm 2 weeks, no bites, saw only tiny ones caught and that was few. Upper pond too low bottom pond fish not biting. At all. Many regulars ate not happy. Place turned into a psych cash grab. Many people said they will not be returning after spending money for a family to fish and bot 1 bite. Kids hey discouraged and get ancy. Parents upset money wasted when they could have went to the beach instead. Weekdays are bad but weekends are...

The days of great/good/something fishing are over..
I fly fish, and also use any of my 30+ rods and setups, and I have gotten 0 hits on anything I cast day after day..multiple times...last year my dad and I visited almost 80 times. We used to get at least 3 each on one of our methods last year..
this year...
25 fish put in/50 on weekends we are told. No fish caught for 8 hrs at all..sometimes 1-3 in those 8 hrs total from everyone(30+ people on the top pond for example).
Kids are upset they can't get even a bite, which is why most parents bring their kids there.
I know most of the veterans there, and the ponds are not the way they used to be...this year the grass is about 3 ft tall around them, and fly fishing is sometimes a nightmare (and the fly fishing ponds are closed..again..)...
Even the best fishermen get skunked there..as a team..
Not a place to get...
Read moreVisited the park today on my way home from the Orangeville Drive Test Center. The gate warden was very helpful.
There are about 3 parking areas - 1 close to the main entrance and the picnic area, one further down the road to the right where you can barbecue, and one downhill from the main entrance close to the fishing areas.
The trails were dirt and have some difficulty to them, but otherwise manageable.
The park has an upper and lower pond that gets stocked with trout. I spoke with a warden and they mentioned that the ponds get stocked daily during trout open season. The upper pond is currently closed due to maintenance, but the lower pond gets double stocked according to the warden.
The washroom by the entrance was well-maintained. I think there is another washroom by the upper pond but I wasn't sure if it was a washroom. There were no labels that I saw.
Bring bug spray and keep yourself covered. Bugs will...
