A nice , hard, short hike. This hike is going up the mountain so unless you've hiked before I would suggest against it. There is a bench about half way up you can stop for a break at. They have these weird steps in some part which personally I disliked as it seemed that I had to be extra careful not to stub my foot off them. Would have much rathered that there were no steps at all. The scenery from uptop is worth the hike up. I strongly recommend that if you do this you it in the morning. There was signs that coyotes were on the trails whether it was their dung or their howling ( I hiked there about 11 in the morning would be alot more activity in the evening). This being where it is there is coyote activity up here. I've been hiking all over this side of smokey and this was the first hike I did where there was obvious...

This hike is considered moderate but man, it was hard. It's straight up the side of a mountain (like the name suggests and the description says). We knew this going into it, but were still surprised at the difficulty. It was also super sketchy to hike a trail that starts with a huge sign that says "coyote habitat." We did a few hikes at the park with this sign, but this one actually spooked us. The view at the top was worth the difficulty and coyote risk, though. It...

Wonderfully steep, 1km directly up to top of the mountain. Be careful of wildlife. Make noises.

Wear good hiking shoes as this can be tough without it! Couple of puddles here and there, and some stony paths.

At the top there is a red Muskoka throne to sit upon and view the landscape. Very beautiful and makes for a great photo...

Steep, but moderate and short hike. I went with my parents (both in their 60s) and it took us just slightly over an hour. A few parking spots at the trailhead, but we only saw two other hikers when we were there in mid-June. Great views at the top!

This is a short (1.5-mile RT), quick hike, but it gives you a good workout and has stunning panoramic views at the top. The trail has lots of rocks and roots, so wear appropriate footwear. We appreciated the stairs added on the steepest sections.
