My husband and I have been skiing at North Highlands Nordic for over thirty years, and consider this ski area one of the reasons we look forward to winter in northern Cape Breton. The combination of pleasures offered individuals and families by this facility (a wonderously scenic trail layout, deep snow cover from Christmas into mid-April, impeccable trail grooming and a welcoming, friendly, helpful, well-trained staff) all add up to a winter outdoor experience that should be enjoyed by all fans of winter outdoors. And since snow shoes are also part of the available rental equipment, those without cross country skiing abilities are able to enjoy their winter visit regardless of their abilities.
