Came for wing night because we heard they were the best in town. our server was new but very friendly. i’m leaving a one star review because there was several times we had a poor experience with one of the other male server/bartenders. he told our table of 8 that we had to move so they could bus our table when we weren’t finished eating yet. they then shut off the game we were watching and ignored us for several minutes before thankfully turning it back on, but we missed part of what we wanted to watch. later, the new server was struggling and the more experienced guys around him didn’t seem willing to help, he was having a hard time separating bills for people and some of us were waiting for more drinks. the more experienced guys were all over the bar while we stood there and nobody acknowledged us. no eye contact or anything. they also were not helping him. later, the same guy who asked us to move, “had enough of hearing us” while i was talking with my boyfriend at the bar about hockey. he said he was going to get security for us to leave. i decided at this point i was done with the poor service, so i sat waiting for my friends to be ready and overheard this man speak loudly about us with his other coworker. again no complaints about the new server, the other staff need to work on their customer service. speaking aggressively towards and about people, and being dismissive of customers because you want to close up and go home is extremely unprofessional, especially when it’s an hour and a half...
Read moreThe one star is for the fantastic individual checking ID'S at the front door as he was the ONLY pleasant part of my mother's day experience. I will not give this place 5 stars but you my friend are an absolute delight. Please don't ever change.
Hubby and I hadn't been out in awhile and he wanted to treat me this last Sunday. To our surprise the casino and the restaurant were quite empty, so we expected a relatively nice and quiet afternoon. After being told by someone behind the bar we could seat ourselves, we proceeded to wait over 20 minutes before someone finally brought us a menu and took our drink order. We got our drinks, hubby ordered a burger and I ordered some portobello taquito type things off the specials menu and onion rings to snack on before our meal. The onion rings weren't bad. Hubby's burger and fry portion was so small we actually giggled at how a kids size burger the palm of my hand and maybe a dozen fries was $20. I could barely stomach the taquito type things I got. The tortillas were burnt on the ends and outsides and a vomit like mush on the insides - like it had been sitting in an air fryer for awhile and then reheated just a bit so it was warm before being brought out to the table. If you want to go to the casino get food elsewhere before you go gamble. The prices, service, and quality just aren't worth the...
Read moreWe hadn't been to Chances/Berezan restaurant for a while and decided to give it a try again. We checked the website before going and it says that they ID under 40. When we got there, we were told that we could not enter the building without scanning ID. We were there for dinner only. One of our party (over 50 yrs old) had not brought their ID and had to drive 25kms round trip to get it. When we asked the security person ( a shorter, older man with a long braid) why they needed to scan ID to enter the restaurant he literally laughed. He was asked why he was laughing when we just wanted an explanation. Instead of providing a decent explanation he continued to smirk and even went so far as to stare at us, whenever he would walk by, while we were having our meal. We will not be frequenting Chances/Berezan again......all it would have taken is an "I'm sorry but this is our new policy and here's why" to keep us happy. Instead we got laughed at, stared at, smirked at and never a real explanation followed by a "you can take it or...
