Beautiful trail set in the middle of Clarenville with challenging steep sections and wonderful wooded areas and ponds.
The most stunning part is the outlook over the Clarenville bay and Random Island, over the scraggy granite massif.
My boy Arlo and myself only explored the 3.5 km circuit around Bare Mountain, leaving the remainder of the network to be explored.
The only part that we found heartbreaking was the fact that developers mowed down large swats of forest besides the trail which gave it a sad, barren, and depressing feeling. Still struggling with Newfoundlanders' mentality that forests needs to be cut down and replaced either by crushed stones, asphalt, or lawn, as if it was the US Midwest or Alberta which I find depressing.
