"Nothing we can do for you." I had run out of ink at home, and I had one piece of paper that I needed to print for the morning so I decided to give this place a go for the first time. I arrived around 8:30pm which gave me about a half an hour, logged in with a guest ID and sent my page to the one print/copy station. Meanwhile a lady rolled up with an entire rolling cart of boxes to copy, and so not to be rude, I sat down and waited for her to be finished. Still going at 8:55, staff gave a tough 5 min warning and we made it known we had a page in the pipeline. 9:01pm, the lady copying had packed up enough that we got a chance to enter our ID to get our one page, and it was not recognizing that anything had been sent - though I had a screenshot of confirmation from the computer from earlier, so I know that wasn't the issue. It was probably an extremely quick fix of incorrectly entering the ID a certain way, but the young girls response to my plea for help at 9:02pm was a stern "there's nothing we can do for you." I mean I get it, KIND OF, but a first impression is everlasting...and this place, when I needed it to be my saving grace, was just a cold slap in the face with a rock hard...
Read moreI was lounging in an empty children’s section’s for lunch with a few friends. there were no children around at all, me and my friends were sitting in the floor causally scrolling through our phones and chatting. No slurs or inappropriate words were being discussed. the librarian who was there was super Karen like. she was really rude and disrespectful to me and my friends. she told us this was the KIDS section but when we go there nobody has ever told us to leave. she was being super judgmental and mean to our faces. she told us to leave or sit outside somewhere because this was the KIDS section. she told us to move the chairs back since we were sitting in a circle and that they were in the way of the books. we understood and moved them but she gave us all a dirty look full of disrespect and bitchiness. I hope the public library takes this message and fires her. i love the library since all the librarians are sweet and nice but this was definitely a new experience I’ve never met such a...
Read moreNearest library to my house so I usually go to this one. Compared to other buildings in the area, it appears outdated. Not a problem of course, it does the job of a library. There could be a larger selection of books to be honest. Oddly enough, my issue with this library is the staff (not to blame all of them). One member approached me one day and engaged me in conversation as I was trying to study. It kind of made me uncomfortable since my intent was to focus, and the (mainly one-sided) conversation dragged on for quite a while. I don't totally remember what it was about but they might have been advertising something to me. Another time, a member working at the front desk (blonde hair I think?) was speaking passive aggressively to me. Her tone was very rude, maybe she was having a bad day. However, I definitely feel less welcomed now at the library after that hostile interaction. Please tell (some) of your staff to treat people...
