The Queenston Park provides active play elements on the lower half while providing a passive open lawn space with a sloped edge in the upper half. The active portion includes a sport court for basketball and ball hockey. The playground is the highlight of the park. There are playground structures for children 2 to 5 years and 6 to 12 years, but the popular playground elements are located on the sloped area that provides active creative play and opportunities for children with mobility issues to be included. The entire playground has coloured rubber surfacing to provide additional opportunity for creative play. The upper half has a large open lawn space and a sloped east edge with seating opportunities of views down the mountain. An accessible pathway connects the lower and upper half. https://www.coquitlam.ca/Facilities/Facility/Details/Queenston-Park-70 #Coquitlam #MetroVancouver #thingstodoinvancouver #Vancouver #momhacks #playground #momlife #activityforkids #activitiesfortoddlers #activitiesforkids #MamƔEnProceso #AmorDeMamƔ

One of a kind playground on Burke Mountain. Great use of terrain to build a windy slide down a hill and all the children love it! Expect to spend 30 min or definitely more here because nobody gets enough of sliding. Bonus for the amount of exercises they are getting climbing that hill every time. Good thing there are plenty of benches and grassy areas for parents to see the entire playground, just don’t get too distracted on the screen with free City wifi! 😁 Bring snacks and water, the kids will surely get tired from all that fun!

This beautiful new park is situated in a very new neighborhood, near the forest. The playground equipment varies in height, and has a newer style. Best part about it, is they've used a very thick and spongy type of rubber composite material for the ground. It will definitely help keep injuries to a minimum. Keeping our little ones safe is a priority while letting them enjoy the outdoors.

Update: What initially appeared to be a beautiful new water garden out front by the road, turned out to be a ditch with a lot of weeds. Doesn't look as nice as when the park was...

My kids enjoy Queenston park and make a point to stop when we're in the area. They're elementary school aged and are quickly bored with the two climbing structures but they enjoy the novelty of the slides built into the hill and trying out all the different ways to climb up the hill. There's also a smaller fenced multi-sport court that's more fun as the kids get older; or when they're younger and learning to ride...
