I visited The Big Apple on Monday, July 21st, and while I initially came to shop and support local goods, I was shocked and disturbed by the conditions of the animals in their petting zoo.
Large animals like cows and pigs were confined to cramped enclosures, barely larger than dog crates. They were exposed to the blazing sun with no shade, no mud pits, no cooling water, and no natural shelterâconditions that are not only inhumane but potentially illegal. The animals looked visibly distressed and lethargic, and it was heartbreaking to see them treated as props for entertainment.
This is not just disappointingâitâs unacceptable. Iâve since contacted animal advocacy organizations and relevant authorities to report what I witnessed. Businesses that profit from sufferingâwhether human or animalâshould not be supported.
Even the staff working in the kitchen looked exhausted and unhappy, which only added to the sense that this place prioritizes profit over ethics, compassion, or basic standards of care.
I will not return, and I strongly urge others to reconsider supporting this establishment until serious changes are made. âIf animals could speak, mankind...

We didnât get to eat the food but it smelt great! Petting zoo is free (can feed the animals in their areas behind the fences) with the exception of if you want to buy food to feed them (sold around the farm) and if you want to personally feed the goats in their pen ($10 / kid for about 20 min and food is included). Would recommend this experience. Was fun! Farmer Ben so knowledgeable and funny and loved his goats! Lots of good eats and local handcrafted gifts there. Loved seeing the apple pie factory. Was a cool experience for adults and kids alike. Last but not least, the big apple! Always a fun time seeing it and great photo op. They added a Canada sign in front which was...
