Rose Drummond — Attraction in Drummondville

I’ve officially written off Rose Cafe for good—and I suggest anyone with dietary restrictions do the same. My partner and I ordered two sandwiches with soup, both of which are listed on the menu with vegan options. I made it absolutely clear that we needed our meals to be vegan, as we are both severely allergic to dairy.

What did I get? A sandwich loaded with real cheese.

This wasn’t just disappointing—it was dangerous. Our entire long weekend is derailed because of their negligence. And how did the server handle it? She casually took the plate and said she’d replace it “for free,” as if she was doing me a favor. Then she had the audacity to ask me to take the soup back to my table as that part didn’t have any problem. I didn’t go to her for a handout—I went expecting basic competency and accountability.

What’s worse? Not a single apology. No urgency. No concern. Just a total lack of professionalism. This isn’t our first bad experience here either, but it will definitely be our last. We used to stop by Rose Cafe often and even bought produce and gifts for family and friends here. That’s over now.

Mistakes happen—but when the staff can’t even muster a sincere apology for putting customers’ health at risk, it’s a clear sign that the service here is broken. The hipster vibe isn’t a substitute for competence or common courtesy.

Amazing oasis! This is my favourite place to stop for lunch and/or coffee when travelling this way. Has the best tasting specialty coffees and is vegetarian/vegan friendly. Food presentation is not only done with great care but is also delectable. I always choose a salad meal and the smoked salmon salad is to die for. Generous portions of all ingredients for a great price. The service is impeccable. To top it off the café is part of a gorgeous greenhouse where you can enjoy your meal and feel like you are in a sanctuary, eat on the terrace or in the dining area inside. For I live in Korea, I used their delivery service to send a bouquet of roses. Before I called them, I texted them through their Facebook, and they transferred my order to the shop in very quick. After that, even I can not speak any French, however the clerk who took my phonecall, she was so nice and kind. She explained me every details and kept asking me that I had any questions.
