A great trail for bike riding or walking. The trail follows the Holland River from Green Lane up to Holland Landing. Along the route you will experience different landscapes including a high tree canopy in a mixed wood forest, a boardwalk through the marsh and a gravel path through a wide open meadow. There are remnants of the barge canal project that was cancelled in the early 1900s. For geocachers, there are nearly 20 caches along the trail! We've seen a wide variety of wildlife including song birds, ducks, blue herons, turtles, frogs, snakes and minks. We especially like the single track trails that meander through the forests. Read moreGreat trail for biking - its long and flat - opens up to a nice view of the bridge and a little waterfall from 2nd concession - kids just learned how to ride on 2 wheels and it is super easy for them -there are maintained trails, gravel trails and off road trails (dirt and in the forest) - we haven't tried those yet. Everytime.we go we have taken a different way. It is really nice to ride on a hot sunny day as there is lots of shade with sunny breaks. Benches and spots to stop along the way.

No restrooms but there is plenty if Bush if you...

The trail runs parallel to the East Holland River. It's not a huge river, but it's plenty interesting. Lots of waterfowl. There are a number of overlooks and areas with super comfortable metal benches. No washrooms, except at the parking lot at Yonge and Mt. Albert there are a couple of Port-a-Pottys. This area of York & Simcoe counties is really beautiful, lush forests, a bubbling river with lots of streams feeding it. It's a bird watchers paradise! So much wildlife to enjoy! And there is...
