My experience at Cape Breton University was amazing! I remembered when I stepped into the university for the first time, watching people interact with each other, and how others were going about their day. I remembered being lost multiple times, trying to find my way to class, getting my school ID card. Meeting with my colleagues and professors. Wondering how I’ll ever get to settle in quickly. CBU had their challenges on housing plus a hurricane just hit the area, so it was tough both on the school and the local community. It was a scary time for me because I had to secure a place to stay. Campus accommodation was filled up plus the natural disaster that just hit the place. The community wasn’t ready to take on international students. Among all the frustration from students, CBU tried their best to make as much provisions as they could. It took me a few months to finally begin to settle in but after that, it was fine. I enjoyed my lectures with my professors. During my free hours, I would explore the campus. It is a beautiful school. I love the flag area. I always enjoy playing soccer, basketball and pickleball. There were lots of programs to help support students mental health which I find amazing. We had the Nancy Dingwall medical center where you can easily go for medical concerns. My biggest highlight was how my professors delivered their courses. They prepare you for the real world in the Canadian economy. I’m proud and honored to be a part of CBU, and the school will always have a special place in my heart.

No Indians should be encouraged to go here. They are exploiting the mental and physical health of students and constantly torturing them . Request every Indian or people from any country not to enroll here. You're future is in your own hands , please don't enroll in this university and spoil your life.

As a graduate of Cape Breton University (CBU), I can confidently say that my online learning experience was nothing short of extraordinary. While my degree program was delivered virtually, CBU’s commitment to creating a personalized and supportive educational environment made me feel connected and valued every step of the way. Despite being miles away, it never felt like I was studying alone.

From the very beginning, the staff at CBU went above and beyond to ensure that I had all the resources I needed to succeed. The professors were not just instructors—they were mentors who genuinely cared about my academic progress and personal growth. Their dedication to my success was evident in the personalized feedback they provided, their willingness to engage with students individually, and their constant encouragement.

The Education department, in particular, was phenomenal. The faculty members fostered an environment that felt more like a family than a classroom. There was always a sense of camaraderie among students, and it was clear that the department was deeply invested in helping us develop both professionally and personally. The collaborative nature of the program made it easy to build meaningful connections, despite the physical distance, and I always felt that I had a strong support system in place.

What stood out most to me was the sense of community at CBU. The university’s commitment to student success went beyond just academics; it was about ensuring that every student felt empowered and capable of achieving their goals. From tailored academic support to career guidance and personal well-being initiatives, CBU was dedicated to providing a holistic and enriching experience for all of its students.

The support I received, coupled with the incredible faculty and the overall sense of belonging, made my time at CBU a truly transformative experience. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a supportive, inclusive, and dedicated community, and I look forward to staying connected with CBU for...

Don't go here. Better to learn from YouTube then enrol here

During my time at Cape Breton University, I often felt that the institution cared more about revenue and expansion than about its students. In my year, the university clearly prioritized attracting and favoring international students over supporting domestic ones. When conflicts arose, there was little effort to resolve them, leaving students to deal with problems on their own.

One serious example I witnessed was an international student who was struggling with mental health. Instead of receiving the help she needed, she was removed from the dorms and left to fend for herself in Sydney. At just 18–19 years old, she had no support network, fell into unsafe environments, and her parents had to intervene to locate her after the university and its “mental health staff” refused to assist because of her behavior in residence. It was heartbreaking to see a vulnerable student left behind this way.

On the academic side, the scheduling and class sizes were also a mess. Some classes were meant to hold only 25 students, yet the university continued to push far more students into them. Professors and students raised concerns, but the administration provided no real solutions. This forced us to miss certain labs and even classes just to complete the coursework, which was unfair to both students and faculty.

Overall, my experience at CBU was that the university’s priority was funding for new facilities, not the well-being or academic success of its students. While the campus may look like it’s improving, the support systems and learning environment are severely lacking. If you’re considering CBU, know that the challenges go far deeper than...

As an alumna of Cape Breton University (CBU), I can confidently say that my time there was one of the most enriching, transformative, and rewarding experiences of my life. CBU offers so much more than just an education—it provides a sense of community, belonging, and endless opportunities for growth.

The faculty at CBU are outstanding. Their dedication to teaching and mentoring students goes above and beyond allowing for meaningful interactions with professors, making learning both personal and impactful. Their support and encouragement played a significant role in shaping my academic journey and career.

CBU’s campus is a hub of diversity and culture, with students from all corners of the world. This international exposure helped broaden my perspective and develop a deep appreciation for different cultures. The university’s commitment to inclusivity creates a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Cape Breton Island itself is a breathtaking backdrop for a university. The natural beauty of the island adds to the overall experience, offering plenty of opportunities to explore, relax, and connect with nature. Whether it’s hiking, enjoying the coastline, or immersing yourself in the local culture, the surroundings are truly inspiring.

As a proud graduate of CBU, I can attest to the value of the education and experiences gained here. The lessons I learned, the connections I made, and the memories I created will stay with me forever. If you’re considering Cape Breton University, know that it’s more than a place to study—it’s a place to grow, thrive,...
