Our family of 4 visited the area on a quest to find waterfalls during our drive across Ontario. Having visited 80 Provincial Parks, 12 Canadian Historic Stops and countless other small town attractions we felt pretty confident in navigating ourselves to see some falls. Boy were we wrong! We first stopped at the Hamilton Tourism centre in the downtown core to obtain maps and directions. We were provided with a map lacking in any detail. We started off from there to try to find the first Waterfall. We stopped at Tews first. We had to pay $25 to enter. We again explained our intent (to find waterfalls and asked if they could point us in the best direction with two young kids). The gentleman was no help, he merely provided us with a second copy of the same vague map and pointed us in the direction of Christie Lake (which we came to find out has no waterfalls). We did see Tews (which had basically no flowing water - we have seen many other far more impressive Ontario falls for no charge at all throughout our travels). We tried doing a trail walk at Christie Lake and got lost because there was no signage. We asked the front gate staff for direction once more to get to another falls and were told to Google it. We eventually found Webster Falls but gave up on our waterfall quest shortly after. Our suggestion would be to have more detailed maps, better signage and friendlier staff. Such a disappointing experience on our journey. We will say, we visited the HMCS Haida to try to turn the day around and it did not disappoint! For under $10 it was far more engaging, informative and interesting than tracking down water trickles and dealing with grumpy staff. Our advice … skip the Falls,...

Went here over the weekend with my partner. He had gone many times in the past when it was only 10 dollars for parking, but now I've read reviews and done some research about this place and it is way too expensive for what this actually is.

When we arrived we noticed a bunch of signs saying you need reservations, but continued up to the booth because we wanted to ask the staff some questions about booking and after that interaction I can tell you now we will never be booking with them nor will we reccomend this place to anyone. The lady working there as soon as we pulled up was rude, impatient with us, condescending, and sarcastic. She didn't even let us ask our questions about how and where to book. She immediately said, "Awesome, you can go turn around and find somewhere else because you won't be coming here." We had driven 2 hours to get there from Scarborough so it was not close for us and we were cut off before we could even ask our questions so we ended up driving 4 hours and utterly disappointed and shocked by the staffs behavior. I will advise all my family, friends, relatives and everyone I know not to give this buissnes any of your money. It is clear this buissnes does not have the level of customer service required to run this conservation and to give customers a good non sarcastic and condescending experience. I have quite a large following on instgram and will be sharing my experience with this buissnes so other know what to expect. Very disrespectful and definitely not how a buissnes should be run. It's clear that this buissness is nothing more than a quick cash grab. We will in fact go...

The Spencer Gorge Wilderness area is nothing like it once was; both Webster and Tew’s Falls were once connected by a walking trail which was part of the Bruce Trail system, and you could literally hike from Webster’s all the way up to Dundas Peak at the upper end, all the way along the edge of the gorge, but from what I understand, too many people were wandering off the clearly marked trail, on to private property and the trail was closed permanently. Even the stairs down to the bottom of Webster Falls have been closed off and you can only view them from a tiny grassed area at the top. It’s a shame that what was once such a beautiful experience has been almost completely ruined. I remember good times walking behind the curtain of the falls with my son, and taking a girlfriend swimming in a secret swimming hole farther down Spencer Creek, which would now be difficultin if not impossible to reach (legally...) Why can’t people show a little common courtesy and respect instead of ruining...

The forecast today called for moderate rain. I wanted to cancel my reservation but it was too late (You have to cancel at least 48hours before). So glad I was unable to cancel though. It had rained earlier in the day but there was no rain when we got there. The weather man is not always right. The Tew falls side trail is a moderately challenging hike. Lots of steep climbs at some points and because it rained, parts of the trail were quite slippery but overall it was a lovely hike which took us about 2 hours out and back. The high points of the trail are the Tew falls and Dundas peak lookout. Not much else beyond that. Things to note: 1. The Tew falls trail does not take you to the bottom of Tew falls. Getting there is via a different trail which is unmarked. 2. You need a reservation which gives you a 2 hour window. For 1 person you pay $26. 3. Portable restrooms are only available at the Harvest road end of the trail where the parking lot is.

I grew up hiking here and while the experience is slightly different now than then due to increase of hikers coming to see the beautiful nature and waterfalls of Hamilton, it is still one of my favourites. The trails are easy to walk on, groomed and taken care of, easy navigation as the trail is marked. Along the trail, is lookout points along the escapement, Tews falls and the Dundas peak which on a clear day you can see all of Hamilton. You don’t need to be an avid hiker to complete the trail. Great opportunity for videos and pictures. Plenty of wildlife to be seen, such a birds soaring through the skies and around the trees.

The view was nice as long you knew where to take the photo, the directions to lead you to any Waterfall hikes was just awful, many were confused and didn't know where to look... I had trouble in finding this very Waterfall with a few friends...we managed to find a good spot to take photos only because we got recommended by other photographers that there was a good spot to take photos but you would have to risk and climb over the fences which says do not climb. We toke the risk but it was worth it. Ideally I wouldn't recommend people who have no experience in climbing down a cliff to do it... Because it could be dangerous
