Excellent park just north of the more popular Rundle park. It features two large ponds and plenty of off-leash dog walking trails and paths. The southern pond is stocked with trout every May by the city for fishing. Visitors to the park will often see geese, ducks, muskrats, and even pelicans inhabiting the ponds. One can stick to the main trail and walk for hours, or venture off riverside for a more scenic view. Compared to Rundle, picnic and grill areas are few and far between. However, if walking and viewing nature is your primary desire, Hermitage wins. The walking trail that loops the northern pond contains two observation docks and benches perfect for a romantic stroll.

Read moreThis is a really nice park to visit especially in summer. There are lots of birds both on the water as well as on tree which adds to the ambience. I usually go there to watch the birds especially in the feeders. Quite a variety shows up. Like me there is quite a big contingent of bird lovers who visit the feeders daily, even on the harshest of winter days. There is also an off leash dog park on the north side of the park. That's another reason to visit this park if you have a pet dog. There are washroom facilities too. So overall this is a nice piece of greenery within the...
Read moreFirst time I was there. we went for the fishing. it's such a beautiful place and very well kept.. very nice people. The dogs were quite nice when they're walking around in the park area. They were on leash in park area. off leash in the appropriate area for that. the playground, I didn't really look around to see if there was a playground. We did see people were canoeing. they also have disc golf which I know a lot of people do like. The picnic areas are fantastic. The tables are well kept. The grass is cut very well. Not very many weeds. And they have a lot of fire pit stoves to make a wonderful barbecue. There is a large area that can be rented for a bigger event. I really like that place. I'm going back...
