Flood Falls — Attraction in Hope

Flood Falls, located near Hope, British Columbia, is a serene and picturesque destination that offers a more peaceful and intimate experience compared to the more popular Bridal Veil Falls nearby. Our visit to Flood Falls late on a Friday afternoon was a highlight of our trip, providing a tranquil escape into nature and a stunning view of one of BC's hidden treasures.

The hike to Flood Falls is slightly longer than some other waterfall trails in the area, but this added distance contributes to its seclusion and tranquility. Facilities and Parking: Basic but Adequate

One of the few downsides to Flood Falls is the limited facilities. There is only a port-a-potty available, lacking the nicer restroom facilities found at other nearby falls. However, this was a minor inconvenience given the beauty and solitude of the location. The parking area is small, with only a few spots available, but we had no trouble finding a spot as there were no other visitors on the trail during our visit.

Peaceful and Uncrowded

The true charm of Flood Falls lies in its peacefulness. Unlike the busier Bridal Veil Falls, Flood Falls was completely uncrowded during our late-day visit. We didn't encounter anyone else on the trail, allowing us to enjoy the natural beauty and serenity without any interruptions. This seclusion made the experience even more special and provided a perfect end to our day as we continued our journey to Kamloops.

Flood falls is a short hike and easy enough for all young and old. There's a couple benches at top for those that want to sit a while and take it all in. This time of year the falls are full due to rain and snow melt, so a good time to see if you don't mind getting wet a little. It's a little colder at the base of the fall's due to the wind created by the fall's. It's a great place to stop at and hike if your driving through and want to stop for no more than an hour and even have a short picnic at the falls. On our way from Kamloops to Vancouver, we found this fall to visit. Its part of Hope and you can also see it while driving on the highway which is really nice.

🏃‍♂️I definitely recommend this beautiful trail. It’s almost a 10-min walk from the highway to the fall. In weekdays, you rarely see many people on the way to the fall and back. In our walk, we just saw two families.
