Bruce Botanical Food Gardens — Attraction in Huron-Kinloss

This place is awesome! It's a neat cooperative gardening project located in Ripley. As you tour you can harvest produce as you wish. There is no fee but a donation is greatly appreciated for the produce you take. The donation can either be time or money. If you have a certain vegetable or fruit in mind you have to be mindful of their growing season. The co-op does not use pesticides or chemicals of any sort. It's all natural. There are few places that make my heart happier than this garden. The love and attention that have gone into the curation of edible plants, the thoughtful educational supports to increase food security and address the climate crisis all while building community make it an excellent model of how we can do things better. Granted we came at a bad time but there was not a whole lot growing when we came. The staff were there to make us aware that it wasn't the best time but that there were some things growing. We were able to pick a few things and hope to return to get more so time...
