I did go back to this beach, about 13 months later. I forgot where my free parking was from last time and was stressed out about all the signs saying your vehicle will be tagged and towed.
I parked on Buchanan Street and there were no No Parking signs so I thought I was safe but a kid there said you will be fined or your car will be towed. There were no signs. Maybe he just doesn't want me parking in front of his house.
I ended up on Leslie Street on the northwest side of 25th Sideroad and Roberts. Other people were parked there, it was far away and there were no signs saying I could not park there so I thought I was safe. However, all the parking warning signs made me paranoid. I could well be reasonable and be in the right but it is a headache if I get a ticket and have to fight it. I am not paying $10/hr up to $50 to park here. It is just gouging.
On a Wednesday, in the middle of a pandemic, it was not too busy.
There are not many beaches around and this is a nice change from trails and parks. It is nice enough but just the attitude towards parking puts me off so much so I didn't buy a snack to support the park.
First of all, the meter says $7/hr up to $55! That is gouging. I parked as close as I could legally and was willing to walk into the park, even if it took a while.
The five beaches are not that large so I could see overcrowding in the summer. We came in late May. It was not warm enough for anyone to put on a bathing suit or go swimming.
I am not a beach person. I get bored lying on the beach. I can't swim. I don't like tracking sand into the car or house.
The kid's play area is nice and slightly different than what is found at other parks.
There are opportunities for some nice pictures.
Is it worth driving 50 minutes to get to (our travel time) and paying for parking?
No, for me, there is nothing unique enough or stands out enough to make the trip more than pleasant. I would first explore other beaches in the area than considering...
Β Β Β Read moreInnisfil Beach Park is an absolute nightmare to visit. The city of Innisfil seems hell-bent on swindling money from unsuspecting visitors by purposefully obscuring parking signs. And let me tell you, the fines they slap on you for parking in supposedly unauthorized areas will leave you flabbergasted. It's like they want to catch you off guard, with a parking ticket machine conveniently stationed nearby, just waiting to drain your wallet.
But here's the kicker: despite the plethora of by-law officers swarming the place, none of them seem to give a damn about ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for the park's visitors. Instead of cracking down on the unruly behavior, they're laser-focused on racking up more parking violations.
And speaking of unruly behavior, the scene at the park is nothing short of chaotic. Visitors think it's acceptable to start fires where it's prohibited, blast obnoxious music from boom boxes at ear-splitting volumes, and openly indulge in drug use. And what are the by-law officers doing about it? Absolutely nothing, except perhaps handing out more parking tickets.
We ventured to the park with our kids, expecting a pleasant outing, only to be met with an environment that's anything but comfortable. It's high time the city of Innisfil stepped up and made their resident parking signs crystal clear if they're going to have the audacity to slap a hefty $125 fine on unsuspecting visitors. But even with clearer signage, I wouldn't visit innisfil beach with my...
Β Β Β Read moreThis was my family's first time to Innisfil Beach and it was so unwelcoming that I was just floored at how terrible the experience was. I had brought my 2 daughters (5 and 6 years old) with me in the hopes of taking them to the beach and park. Upon arriving, the weather had turned dark and windy, and we were unsure if we would be able to stay and use the beach/facilities. I thought to take a quick look at the beach to make a decision before paying for parking since it was our first time. When I got back to my car - to which I was away for only 4 minutes. I discovered that I was ticketed for non-payment of parking. Sadly, because of this I chose not to stay at the beach because I didn't know whether to pay for parking as I had intended or whether the $120 ticket would suffice as payment to keep my car in the lot (I didn't want risk it being towed by leaving my car again for another minute). The issuing officer was nowhere to be found either to discuss the issuance of the ticket. After getting my crying kids settled back into the car, on my way out I took a photo of the more than half empty parking lot I was in (to verify my own disbelief in how terrible this experience turned out). Parking for only a few minutes to decide on whether to continue discovering a new beach did not hinder parking for other visitors and only caused me and my family grief. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING OR GOING TO THIS BEACH UNLESS YOU'RE A RESIDENT. IT IS NOT WELCOMING TO OUT OF...
