East Sooke Aylard Farm entrance is pretty beautiful.

There are many trails you can access from this lot. The wide main gravel path leads down to a lovely sandy beach and stunning ocean views.

This connects to the longest path which is the coastal trail that spans the whole coast line through undulating terrain.

There are also many forest trails that you can use to cut from the coastal trail to loop back to the Aylard Farm parking lot.

Maps are limited on the trail so a mapping app is suggested or take a picture of the map at the start.

If you go far enough up the coastal trail you will come to the petroglyphs. Please remember to respect these valuable historical drawings by taking only pictures.

Many types of wildlife can be spotted here, a large variety of birds, seals, sea lions and sometimes even Whales.

Aylard Farms is a true gem so let's keep it that way! Please pack all garbage back to the many trash cans and resist the urge to graffiti the trees and stone...

We had a terrific day in East Sooke Regional Park. We parked our RV at Aylard Farm, there was plenty of space at 10:30 am although it was a sunny saturday great for hiking. The alternative would have been the Anderson Cove Parking Lot. We hiked about 8km along the coast trail and saw lots of seals and humpback whales. One came up incredibly close to the rocks. One local woman we met told us that she has never seen one so close. But every now and then you could see them surfacing farther out or at least see the remaining spray. All in all it was a great experience and a very nice trail. If you're in the region be sure...

A beautiful hike, can be challenging at times. Took the route closure to the coast. Hike route is filled with variable conditions, unstable treads, steep inclines and at places slippery surface. Keep an eye out for wild life. Feeding wild life is strictly prohibited. Cell phone coverage can be limited at places so carry a GPS with you. Carrying bear spray and being prepared is highly advised. It’s a scenic trail with moderate difficulty at times so be ready to burn those...

Easy to find but a bit of a drive from downtown Victoria. The hike along the coastal trail is so goood and well worth it!! Be careful on the “gnarly” places, take time to get your footing right and avoid turning an ankle (who is going to carry you back to the car if you can’t walk / in severe pain 🤷🏼‍♂️). We brought a pack lunch to enjoy and while sitting at Beechy Head Point. SUBLIME!! Go and experience the wonderful nature.

Very nice place with some amazing views. Hike is very easy and the trails are well maintained. The two cons are that people have dogs off leash which is very annoying and this is a prime spot for school trips. The last part was a con because there was a line of 10-20 people the entire time we were there and they were hard to navigate on the trail. I had to have explosive diarrhea so I was red lining it.
