Sandcut Beach is an absolute treasure!

Located near Sooke on Vancouver Island, this beach offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and tranquility. The short hike through the lush forest to reach the beach is an adventure in itself, with well-maintained trails and stunning scenery. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by a beautiful sandy beach and the mesmerizing sight of waterfalls cascading directly onto the shore. The sound of the waves and the falls creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot for a picnic, a leisurely walk, or simply to unwind and enjoy the breathtaking views. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Sandcut Beach is a must-visit destination.

Highly recommended for its serene beauty and...

June24/2018. At the parking lot we met a very congenial gentleman with the park service taking counts of the number of people using the park. A very small parking lot here and could use more space. He went out of his way to help us get parked.Thank you again.Take care. The trail down to the beach is about 800 meters. The interesting part here is also the trail, very thick with foliage,as this is a rain forest. The trail itself is over roots and rock with stairs. If you come here without rain you have a lucky day for your hike. Once at the beach the high lite of Sandcut,is the falls, which is about 500 meters to the left.Low water you can climb up the ledge behind the falls and explore the creek bed.Have fun...

30 minute drive from Sooke and a short 10 minute, downhill walk to a rocky/pebbled beach with an amazing waterfall feature at the southern end. The only place on Southern Vancouver Island where you can (safely) view the sunset from behind a waterfall. Pretty crowded in the nicer months, there seems to be a couple local daycares that bring the kids out through the weekdays. But viewing the waterfall is way better in the winter. Beach can be impassible with heavy waves.

To enjoy this park and others with a local guide, book a tour through The Natural Connection. They provide transportation, backpacks, and lunch...

Sadly we actually did not make it all the way to the beach. The sign said 400 meters and it must have been as the crow flies! I would say it is a lot more than 400 meters. It is a beautiful walk through a coastal forest. Terrain is a little rough between large rocks and roots, slippery too as it is very sheltered. Lots of up and down and then many stairs to get down to the beach. We stopped at the beach view point above all the stairs as I had hurt my knee, blast and darn. It looked beautiful and peaceful so we try another day.

Just a 400 meters easy walk from the parking area along Highway 14, this beach has a beautiful twin falls (although not considerably high) that drops directly to the gravelly beach. You can easily climb to the upper stoney crest of the fall and see how the water flows downward, this also serve as a spectacular area to view the Salish sea. This beach also is a mainstream attraction along the west coast of Vancouver Island
