Extremely well maintained. Lots of soccer fields baseball diamonds paved Pathway to walk the perimeter of the entire park. Even in a wheelchair.

Dogs are not allowed fortunately or unfortunately depending upon your viewpoint.

Lots of trees and vegetative growth. Is Not Unusual to see deer grazing near the paved path. You can literally walk past them and they will not run away a lot of the time.

There are also a lot of river views along the path. Marmots are also quite common and curious along the path. Benches with views of the river are scattered along the path as well.

Individuals Jog and families walk and ride bikes around the park. People are friendly and usually wave hello as you pass them going the other way. We love it!

Yes I almost forgot! There is a former 9-hole golf course that has been converted to a Frisbee Golf Course. And it is free. As well as a little mini golf course that is quite well maintained not fancy but fun. And it is also free. Bring your own balls in your own...

Could use more garbage retrieval including in the feilds.. More signs about the ducks and to not feed bread products would be good. Or to try not to feed them because of domestication. The park itself could use some security or the playground moved away from the skate park where the underage teens smoke all kinds of things from cigarettes to meth, play loud music with lots of profanity and or offensive racial or anti police statements, drink, & swear like sailors all day long so younger kids arent listening to it. The wild life while pleasant to look at and things can be intimidating as well because of people feeding them. Even deer get dangerously close. Their feces are also a problem. The bathrooms are rarely open and when they are they are poorly stalked. The area itself is great clean and the...

Multi - purpose park, with fields for soccer, and baseball plus an Indoor baseball practice building and Baseball stadium. Lawn bowling, 18 hole free mini golf, disc golf and skateboard zone. There is also a section of outdoor gym equipment for strength n coordination. The arena has two full size hockey rinks with bleachers, curling area near front entrance and a concession stand which opens for games(after covid). Area upstairs for meetings n banquets. The pathway around the park is popular with walkers n cyclists. They are maintained year round. Boat launch on river side closest to arena, plus overnight camping for contained rv's n trailers. The real bonus is the amount of wildlife that also call McArthur Island home. Washrooms located at far end and by arena. Something...

Went to Kamloops Gem Show that was held at the Sports Arena this month. After the show I decided to walked through the grounds in MacArthur Park on the way out. They are very well maintained....beautiful green lawns and huge weeping birches with other variety of plants & seasonal flowers. Went to Xeriscape Garden, which is a lovely garden that offers a quiet space to sit and enjoy the tranquility of nature and is near the walking path. The park itself is covers a vast area with walking trails thst encompass the whole park & along the west side, too. Wildlife abounds in the park from squirrels, golden marmot, geese families, bear, many deer & bird species, occasionally cougars, and coyotes. It's a beautiful place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic.

I'm an avid discgolfer and this park has a world class Discgolf Course! Along with 10 baseball diamonds, 12 soccer fields, a hockey and curling rink, and lawn bowling. There's a small herd of deer that live in the park year round (that's why no dogs aloud). You can see owls, hawks, eagles, woodpeckers. Wild and manicured foliage and flower gardens. Lots of Willow and Poplar trees. There's a breeding pond of wild turtles. The Thompson River runs beside the park. There's ample parking and lots of washrooms. All in all a beautiful park. As far as sports go it's second to none!
