The state of the operations and value for your dollar are both so low here, consider alternatives. Expect long line ups, very little service from staff, slow lifts, and an overwhelmed system not properly prepared for loads on peak days. Other notable issues: -lineups for rentals were somewhere between 1-3 hr wait times. Kiss your skiing time goodbye. -Parking lot is so tight that you’ll have to circle and race another person, in the slush, to that open spot two rows over -lineups for lineups (proof of vaccine, lift tickets, the lifts themselves) and poor signage. Photos show the lineups inside and out. -bathrooms are all touch fixtures of every kind, highly out of date and cramped with even a few users at once -Did I mention the lifts are slow and stop constantly? -No children rates so expect to pay $200+ for a family visit -No half day or discounts available, not even a seniors rate? -Night skiing used to start at 5pm, now it’s 2 hours of the worst conditions for 62% of the price -No capacity limits to keep the hill operating smoothly (just pile more people in!) -No ability to pre-purchase lift tickets ahead to time to alleviate lineups

This is a good learning hill. It's small and the lines are long, but it's a good local option without having to drive far on a weekly basis for lessons for the kids. There are three lifts and depending on who is working them, often, each chair is not at capacity (i.e. there is only one or two people on the 3- or 4-person chairlift). I get some people may not be comfortable sharing, but that contributes to the long lines. The staff have been kind and helpful, as my daughter was more advanced than her initial group and the instructors had no problems changing her group. We have our own equipment, so I can't speak to the rental experience, but I see the line-ups are often long. There's a small terrain park that the kids enjoy, and which typically has a much shorter line-up. The staff keep some fires going outside, which is a nice way to warm up the hands a bit in-between runs. Again, it's a good hill to learn to ski, but if you're a regular skier, you'll find the runs short and will likely find a better experience elsewhere. Still, it's a good option to spend a day out with the family.

We got really lucky with weather over the March break and my kids and I went skiing for the first time ever. Chicopee is a great place for beginners. We did the discovery package which was perfect as it included a lesson, rental and the lift ticket. Everything you need for a non-skiier to try skiing for the day. The staff were friendly, patient and helpful. It was particularly busy when we went, so wait times to get in as well as the lifts were long, but I think it was a combination of March break as well as what seemed to be the most perfect skiing weather day, when the entire winter season had very few of these kinds of days. We had a great time though, and would definitely go back there and do it again (next season, as this one is done).

This review is about the manager of the ski equipment rentals. Last season we signed our kids up for lessons. We were told they did rentals when we signed up. We showed up early for our first lesson to get the rentals, and found out from the person who ran the ski rental that they were no longer doing that they were clearing out all their stock and you could only buy the skis. We never received any emails or anything in advance to tell us that this would be the case and we would need to purchase our own skis or bring our own skis with us.

Unfortunately, this left us between a rock and a hard place. We did not have anything to use that day and so, had no choice because there was no time to go anywhere else to look around and had to buy from them.

They sold us equipment that was pretty beat up unreasonable cost. To make matters worse, I have three children, two boys that have about a foot difference in their height. He gave both both of my boys, the same length skis?! …I have no idea why!

I had to buy a brand new set— full pop for my older son and the used skis that were the same length as the new ones, for my younger son. My daughter who complained about the boots being too tight and her toes touching the front was completely ignored and dismissed by the gentleman doing the sizing- and he told her that she was incorrect and that they were the right size. my daughter stopped her lessons halfway through the season because the boots were so uncomfortable. She couldn’t use them, but she was afraid to let anyone know about the reason why she wouldn’t go to skiing anymore. Not only did I lose out on the cost of all the equipment, but I also lost out on half of the lessons for my daughter because of this.

I am so frustrated— and truly feel that they were just trying to clear out what they had left and pushed equipment on us that didn’t fit my kids.

As far as the lessons go—the ski instructors were good and my kids are enjoying the lessons this season, but it’s still left us with a feeling that they were taking advantage and will never buy anything from there again. I will make sure whenever we go that we are properly equipped— I may even try another local ski Hill...

Better value at any other ski resort. I wouldn't label Chicopee as a resort. It's nothing more than a glorified beginner hill under inept mismanagement. Customer service plus skier experience is especially weak. It takes nearly 5 minutes to get to the top and 30 seconds to the bottom. I never experienced ski lift fatigue before I tried this place, and I live in Kitchener!

Not all the lifts are open. Either they break down too frequently, or they can't find enough people to work the lifts, or they can't afford to operate them all time (from what I frequently heard from unhappy staff and other skiers). The result? Huge lineups for the other lifts that are operating. The result is line wait times can easily hit 20 minutes on weekends due to bottlenecking paying skiers. While waiting in these long line I have openly heard complaints from Chicopee employees about how under staffed they are. Chicopee seems to be a self-defeating operation that simply isn't worth visiting, much less buying a season pass!

I will take one shot at the outrageous cost buying a meal at this place. Don't! It's the worst eating value in Waterloo Region, in my opinion. On top of it all, the food quality is, quite frankly, crap.

Another shot at the parking lots...the suspension on my truck took a significant beating thanks from the innumerable potholes as you drive in a out. See and feel it for yourself. Your mechanic will be happy for the extra work you give him for repair!

In short, It's by far better value for your winter recreational ski dollar and enjoyment to take a short drive to Glen Eden (Milton) or Hockley Valley (Orangeville), or longer to good 'ole Blue Mountain (Collingwood). These ski sites are fun, high value when compared to Chicopee.

I tried Chicopee a few times in recent years to arrive at my conclusions. I won't be returning to financially support such a ...

This mid aged female, introduced herself as a supervisor, ruined my first trip to Chicopee ski trip, insulting me infront of my 7 years old son called me "Liar". I had issues with resort about wearing hockey helmet in kid practice slope. Resort said NO helmet is OK, but CAN'T wear hockey helmet! I completely shocked. However I went to ticket office to talk about this, and lady initial J mentioned helmet is recommended for everyone, but mandatory only for resort lesson. ( So I got extra protection, hockey helmet, is that breaking rule for kid practicing slope?) Since I am supervising my son right beside, she agreed using hockey helmet. After that when we were way back to Kid practice slope, this old age male staff started to yelling to us, kind of angry voice, "you can't use hockey helmet, and I told them I already talked to a lady, it is OK, but he was ignoring what I said to him and talk to young female staff and walked away. And as soon as we approach Kid practice slope, this mid age female staff also kind of angry voice " I told you you can't wear hockey helmet" and I told her I already talked to office staff, to me office staff must be her supervisor, they said it is OK. Then she call someone in her push to talk radio, and this Supervisor mid age female lady chased after us starting to yelling at us " you never came to office, ....you are lying, lier! INSULTING me infront of my 7 years old son. (So I asked my son right away and my son agreed we were at the inside office) And she also told me whoever told OK, they are in trouble!. Really??? WHAT A RUDE AND impolite manner. Our family went for a fun, but it became misery trip in Chicopee resort. After that we decided to go back home. I tried to find her to before leave, however never found her and did not get...
