The township maintains the beach the best that they can, Mother Nature usually takes over in ruins it from storms, the township could probably maintain it better
it's come a long way since I was a kid you can actually walk along the shore and go in the water with out seeing trash float by, make sure to bring sandals or wet shoes if you go there are shells the first six feet of the beach but you dont really need them unless you have soft feet, there's a sandbar all the way up to about 100ft out. there's an ice cream parlour there and they server hot food If you head to the back side of the ice cream hut theres a water bottle refill station, outdoor public showers/rinse off area there is no BBQs at the beach but there are BBQs across at the park.(walking distance) It's a fun destination for being out in the sun there's limited parking make sure to...

There's small place you can buy an ice cream and some snacks and food right there on the beach. Two minutes walk from the beach you can rent a room from Belle River Yacht Club, the Sup & Sun rents paddle boards and kayaks right around the corner. Read moreWe love this beach! Kids beg to go every warm sunny day we have. The sand is nice and the water is shallow for quite a bit out, you don't need to worry about your littles too much. We usually go weekdays, weekends it can get crowded. There can be a fair share of teens there, some play explicit loud music, so be prepared for that if you have young kids.
