Located just a few minutes from The Pinery Provincial Park, And about 10 minutes south of Grand Bend, this museum features the history of Lambton County. Newly renovated, the main room is now bright, well lit with new exhibits featuring the families, lifestyles, businesses and industries, and pastimes of families since it was settled.
Outside in the back are many buildings - A church, schoolhouse both moved from their original sites when they are closed, located in Lambton, along with a big building filled with vehicles and farming artifacts, And other information of farm families 30 years. The one building, we stayed there for over an hour, so interesting! Is wooded with a network of pathways. Bring a picnic if you want. Wheelchair accessible
Back inside the building, to the right of the entrance is a Collection Room.

Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Lambton Heritage Museum. Super easy to get to (right down the road from The Pinery). All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. The actual exhibit was huge (a lot bigger than I was expecting), and touched on a lot of different topics from a lot of different time periods. I also liked the fact that they acknowledged that the early Europeans were colonizers, not pioneers. What was also really cool was they had a number of old buildings (school, church, house, blacksmith, slaughter house) to take a look at, which I always find enjoyable, as well as a large outbuilding filled with different tools, equipment, and vehicles. The best part is that they have a museum cat, Jack, who...
Read moreIs the $5 entry fee worth it? ABSOLUTELY. This is a wonderful small museum that packs in a lot. The outside area reminds me of Black Creek Pioneer Village in Toronto. The inside gallery has lots of historical memorabilia collected from residents in the area and beyond. The tall older gentleman with glasses working at the reception/welcome desk was the friendliest person you'll ever meet; unfortunately I did not get his name. Charming place that deserves a visit if you're in the area already and if you have an interest in this kind of thing. And oh, there's a really friendly black cat out in the back (outside display area) who will be happy to walk alongside you and...
