Olympic View Golf Club — Attraction in Langford

Too bad this course is plagued with extremely slow pace. The first time happened last fall, so we thought it was a one off, then today it was confirmed. SLOW!

The pace of play, started out fine up until the 4th hole where suddenly we started waiting longer ( started around 5 mins). Then by the middle of the course it was so backed up and the Marshall only said “ it’s Saturday what do you expect”. We were not impressed with that attitude. We waited over 12-15 mins on holes 15,16,17,18 before we could tee off. We aren’t speedy golfers but it should never add over an hour to your play time because the Marshall can’t do their job. He even mentioned there was an empty hole and then 3 groups on 1 hole trying to just keep some sort of momentum. Perhaps ask the front slow group to move to the empty hole to allow pace to recover! Why should others suffer for group! When it costs $250 to golf here

Lastly, dress code has gone down hill. Men in cut off tank tops, no collared sport shirts on most people, and saw someone wearing jeans!

If this course just worked on their pace of place and actually enforced it that would improve the experience greatly.

A disappointed...

A great golf course. Beautiful fairways, greens are firm and in great condition. Play positional off the tee rather than long drives. I think I only hit driver 2-3 times. Most of the time 3-wood or hybrid was just right. The only improvement I would suggest is more signage. From the cart pickup location, there’s no signs directing you up to the parking lot so you can pick up your clubs so we drive around a bit. Also there’s no signs directing you from the green to the next tee. No problems most of the time, but there was a par 3 we drove right by the tee-box as we only saw a small sign further up directing carts to drive right up to the green. We were looking at the sign further up on the right, so totally missed the tee-box on the left lol. Didn’t really mind, but it took us 10 mins to figure out and so of course the group behind us had to wait. We mentioned it to one of the staff, but he said minimal signage is intentional as they wanted the course to blend in with nature. I think there’s a balance to be made here as newcomers to the course will find more signage more helpful and speed them up navigating the course. Will definitely be back for...

We got married at Olympic View Golf Club on August 10th 2019, and I could not have picked a better venue for the event. Katrina was so helpful with the entire planning process and was always willing to meet and chat about any concerns or questions we had. She took care of everything on the day of, and helped to coordinate the other vendors as they came to set up their services. On the actual day it was pouring rain and we had the option to move our ceremony inside but we chose to keep it outside and luckily the rain stopped just in time for our ceremony to start. The outdoor ceremony spot is gorgeous and there are many stunning areas to have photos taken on location. We had our reception in the ballroom and it was set up beautifully by the Olympic View staff. Our guests loved the food and it was nice to have some outdoor space on the patio for our guests to cool down after dancing or have somewhere quieter to talk. Overall our experience working with Olympic View Golf Club was great and everything went smoothly. I felt like I didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day thanks to the staff at...
